The St. Paul Street Evangelization team in Jacksonville Beach, FL had our first outing on Saturday, April 1st. We started the morning at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, praying the rosary at 8:30, Mass at 9:00 and then Fr. Michael Houle, the pastor, gave a special blessing over us and our rosaries, medals, pamphlets, and other materials.
We spent about 2 1/2 hours at the Jacksonville Beach Sea Walk Pavilion and were able to talk to quite a few people about the Catholic faith, gave out a lot of rosaries and pamphlets that explained the rosary and how to pray it.
We also distributed many pamphlets that explained the Catholic faith to both non-Catholics and Catholics that were not practicing the faith, and reasons why someone should consider becoming Catholic or returning to the Catholic Church.
We all agreed that this first outing was a great success and everyone had a great time, after getting over our initial nervousness. Many people were surprised to see “Catholics” out there doing this type of thing. Even the non-Catholics expressed their admiration for us being out there as witnesses for Jesus Christ. We’re already looking forward to our next opportunity to evangelize.

And another view.
The canopy was surprisingly easy to setup and important to have under the sun at the beach.

Table all setup and not blowing away.
