"Go Forth and Share the Good News" Isn't Just a Suggestion

At the end of Mass, the priest tells us to go forth and share the good news. How many of us remember to do that? If not, we need to take that statement with the utmost seriousness. Without our evangelization, people may not come to know Christ and could be lost. One way to learn how to share this urgent message of salvation is to join our School of Evangelization.

Our school emphasizes direct evangelization strategies, relational ministry, and personal growth as an evangelist. Our method of teaching is to learn together through small groups, mentorship, class discussion, and group evangelization outings (where possible) with our local teams.

This cooperative approach helps each student to grow confident evangelizing in various circumstances (family, friends, strangers, in public, and in ministry). There will be evangelization opportunities at the end of each quarter. Each student completes a goals and growth worksheet, and a mentor works with each student on those goals throughout the year.

Byzantine Evangelization

Warren, MI. This past week we launched our urban missionary work at St. Stephen’s coinciding with receiving the Miraculous Icon of Our Lady of Klokocov for its 350th Anniversary! It’s been a great success so far, and the pilgrim icon will be visiting all five of the Byzantine Catholic parishes in the greater Detroit area. I’ve been working on getting support from the pastors to build teams for each parish and get into the neighborhoods of each parish to invite locals to come to the various Liturgical events.

Sign My Petition

Warren, MI. I was walking into a local store when a lady stopped me to sign a petition for a controversial topic. I asked her for details, and upon hearing and reading more on the issue I declined. I explained that I’m Christian and there are certain things that I don’t believe in and that signing her petition could actually hurt us. After giving an example, I sensed some tension so I focused on the need to love and respect one another despite our differences, especially given everything going on in the world and she agreed. I blessed her and her effort and was about to depart. However, when she mentioned God was taking care of her, I stopped and asked if I could pray for her. She agreed and mentioned that she needed prayer for work. I asked her name, and she said Stephanie, and then I introduced myself.
