This week, Brian Lee (our Director of Teams) talks with Tony Giangiulio, a team leader from Emerald Coast, Florida. Tony grew up Catholic, but didn't start getting serious about his faith until 15 years ago. Moreover, after being involved in various ministries for over a decade, he still knew something was missing. The Holy Spirit called him to step out and start sharing the Faith. He began hitting the streets of Florida and evangelizing. Admittedly, Tony didn't know what he was doing at first, but trusted God was leading him so he stepped out in faith. He trusted God could use everything, including his military training to reach souls. Now he goes out to the local beach to invite others to know Jesus and become a disciple through the Church He founded.

Additionally, SPSE's new podcast, God in Everything, is bringing the Catholic faith to an entirely new audience. Just one example of a listener who has been asking about our faith comes from "Bill." He grew up a big Beatles fan, and later, after becoming a Christian in the 1990s, Bill realized he was making idols of The Beatles. Bill still enjoys their music, but put Christ at the center of his life instead. He says he's a Baptist, but asked questions like why our hosts chose Catholicism, how do Catholics gain salvation, and if they believe all Christian groups will go to heaven? This podcast is stirring up important questions in the hearts of its listeners. Thanks be to God!

Searching for Something

Tampa, FL. Another beautiful day to evangelize on Tampa’s Riverwalk: great weather, lots of foot traffic, joyful evangelists. We did have an issue when an overzealous park employee tried to make us leave, but after a nice conversation with his boss and the police we were able to stay if we moved our table 10′ back. Many thanks to Mike, Jeanne, and Chris for joining me. Some interesting encounters:

▪ Nurse Jody stopped by for a rosary. She said she was dealing with many COVID cases, some with sad outcomes. We prayed for strength.
▪ A group of 6 young ladies walked past, declining our invitation to accept a free rosary or medal. As so often happens, after they had passed us by 50 feet, Brianna came running back. She said she has been searching for something and wanted to see what we had. She looked over the brochures and took: – Proof of the Existence of God from Astrophysics – Salvation – Why Be Catholic

St. John Bosco Fall Festival

Lower Bucks County, PA. Last week, Deacon Mark and Nancy were at the St. John Bosco Fall Festival, next to the Legion of Mary, last week. The carnival goers seemed so happy to be out and about on a beautiful night in Hatboro. We were very pleased as well, as it’s been awhile since we’ve done street evangelization at a parish celebration! Our team gave out many Miraculous Medals, crucifixes, and saints medals. We spoke and prayed with many folks. Our last encounter was with a father who had been raised Catholic but was not able to get the sacraments for both of his daughters because of difficulties with doing so in the past. He seemed very open to coming back to Mass with his girls and getting them into religious education. Nancy also invited him to her parish 11 am Mass, in case he was looking to go to a local church where he would know someone.
