Today’s evangelization was filled with many beautiful conversations and moments of grace.
Many Catholics stopped by to receive a rosary for themselves, a friend, or a family member. Several shared about their parish life and their faith journeys. We were blessed to speak with Evelyn, who told us that she does not attend Mass regularly, although her mother and sister are practicing Catholics. We showed her how to pray the Rosary and explained the mysteries, reflecting especially on Our Lady’s humility and trust in God during the Annunciation. We spoke about how Mary accepted God’s will to become the Mother of our Savior and remained faithfully by His side all the way to the Cross. Evelyn was deeply touched by our conversation. She happily accepted a “Why Be Catholic?” brochure and said she intended to read it.
We also met Humberto, who was accompanied by his two children as they prepare for First Communion. We explained how to pray the Rosary, and he asked when it should be prayed. We shared that the Rosary can be prayed whenever we desire to speak with God and seek His presence. He was moved by the conversation, and he and his children each took a rosary so they could begin praying together as a family.
Many non-Catholics also stopped to receive a rosary and brochure explaining how to pray it. One of them was Niebert, who shared that she doesn’t belong to any religion but experienced God’s presence during a difficult divorce. She spoke openly about her belief in God and her gratitude for His help during that painful time. We discussed Mary’s humility and trust in God, especially how she accepted His plan despite the challenges she’d face. As we spoke, Niebert reflected that Mary’s trust was “unconditional.” We also talked about Mary’s faithfulness at the foot of the Cross as she witnessed the death of her Son. Niebert added, “He died for us, for our sins, and she gave Him to us.” She gladly accepted a “Why Be Catholic?” brochure to learn more.
