This report comes to us from station leaders Ingrid with our Somerville-Immaculate Conception parish team in NJ:
Another memorable encounter was with a father and his two sons. When we first offered him a rosary, he politely declined. A little later, we offered it again. This time, he accepted it. As we placed the rosary in his hand, we held his hand briefly and said, “God bless you.” He then took the rosary, made the Sign of the Cross with it, and kissed it while his two sons watched. It was a simple but moving moment.
We also met Ana, who expressed a desire to return to church and grow more consistent in her faith. She took a rosary and shared that she hopes to begin praying it with her mother every Sunday. Another family of three also took rosaries and expressed their intention to begin praying together, especially as their children continue their faith formation classes.
We met Macy as well, who told us she does not believe in anything in particular but was curious about why Catholics pray the Rosary. We explained its purpose and shared a brochure with her so she could learn more.
We also briefly spoke with Angela, who asked for prayers for her son, Mateo Jesus. What a beautiful name. We assured her that we would keep him in our prayers.
Please keep everyone we encountered today in your prayers, those who stopped to talk with us, those who accepted a rosary or a brochure, and even those who chose not to. We pray that God may touch each of their hearts, reveal Himself to them, and help them experience the infinite love He has for every one of His children. To God be all the glory.
