High Season for Jesus - 2025-Aug-03

August 10, 2025

SPSE Team PhotoJesus is still calling people to Himself. So, thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.

Two stylish young-adult women stopped. They were non-Catholic Christians. After hearing an explanation of the devotion and how Christ-centered it is, they each chose a Rosary and accepted the pamphlet on how to pray it. May the Lord bless them and draw them ever closer to His Heart!

A large-and-tall, 60-ish man, with a proportionately large head, stopped to ask directions to a restroom. He let us know he is a non-Catholic Christian and is visiting here from the opposite corner of the country. Although we were finding the weather uncomfortably hot, he said it felt pleasant, since it didn’t have the humidity it would’ve had in his home state. He initially chose a black string Rosary, but then acted like he wanted to wear it around his neck. E. Lucy suggested he try a much longer chain Rosary with dark-blue stones. He accepted. May the Lord keep him safe in his travels and may He draw the man to Himself through the Rosary prayers.

A group of people came to the table, dressed in colors for the local festival celebrating the nationality of an historically Catholic people who had immigrated to the area, two centuries ago, in response to economic hardship and persecution against Catholicism in their homeland. Three out of the four visitors chose a Rosary.

Marty came over to say hi. He didn’t remember choosing the gold-and-black Rosary from us about a month ago. May God free him from addictions and other disabilities!

Our last two pink Rosaries were selected early, by women in two different groups.

A tall, thin, young-adult man with a nose ring, was also sporting shoulder-length blue hair and wearing headphones. He reacted to the evangelist’s offer of a Rosary by slowing down with a puzzled look on his face. Finally, he took the headphones off and once he understood what we were saying he approached, replying, “I’ll take one. It couldn’t hurt.” E. James responded, “And it may help a lot!” He was visiting from northern Europe to see family and friends and knew nothing about the Rosary, but said he believed in Jesus. He listened without remark as e. Chuck explained and extolled the Rosary and, before he went on his way, said, “You can try anything once.” Pray that he does “try” the Rosary and hears the Holy Spirit speaking to him in response.

A 50ish lady, accompanied by son and father, chose a blue-and-green Rosary. May the Lord bless her whole family and bring them all to salvation!

A man in his mid-20s, wearing a brand-name, non-Christian t-shirt, shorts, and sunglasses, told e. Chuck that he was “familiar with the Rosary” and took one from the evangelist’s hand. May the Lord use the Rosary to draw him back to His side.

A nicely dressed, young-adult couple, deeply tanned, were curious about the Rosary. They attend a local non-Catholic Christian megachurch. After hearing a brief explanation of the devotion, they each chose a Rosary. E. James invited them to Mass. The couple, all smiles, and remaining very friendly and open, said thanks but politely declined. May God bless their willingness to be kind and draw them to Himself in the Church that He founded.

A 30-something woman, pedaling a bicycle and accompanied by her family, didn’t stop for a Rosary. But she did turn to us and say, “No, thanks, but they’re beautiful.” May the Lord use color and beauty to draw her into the relationship with Himself that He desires.

Another adult man, pedaling past the table, responded to our free Rosary offer by calling out, “I’m lapsed”. May God continue to draw him out of his apathy and back into right relationship with Him in the Catholic Church.

A young-adult couple walked along as if to go by without acknowledging us, but the man suddenly changed his mind and took the Rosary from the evangelist’s hand. He said “sure” when asked about his belief in Jesus, but was more smiles than words. The young woman declined a Rosary, saying she would share his as they hurried on their way. Pray that their lukewarm faith grows hot and full of the Holy Spirit.

The weather was hot, so foot traffic was light. Still, we were able to give away 15-20 Rosaries and its pamphlet on how to pray it.

Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

In this season, when many people are traveling to the area, the surprise of seeing the Faith displayed in public draws people to think about Jesus. So, thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
