God Amazes Us - 26-Oct-2025

November 2, 2025

We often feel surprised. So, thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.

A man named “Dakota” approached the table and declared that the Catholic Church and its hierarchy was a willing instrument of the devil. And so began a lengthy and at times acrimonious discussion. Despite showing him how he had several points of history wrong, and pulling out a Bible to show him the true context of one of the verses he used, he merely changed the subject or interrupted us with his spiel about secret rooms in the Vatican basement and pagan bishop hats and other disinformation. Partway through the argument, he did say he thought we evangelists were saved and that he only had a problem with the Catholic Church. Please pray for Dakota, may this mind be freed of error, his ego tamed by God, and his soul yearn for the communion of saints.

A soft-spoken man, who adheres to a major non-Christian world religion, approached e. Chuck asking about the meaning of the Rosary. He listened politely for a while, but wanted to know if we really believed Jesus was God. We then discussed our differences over the Trinity, the Bible, and salvation in a largely respectful manner. He had an appointment, but said he would stop by to talk again. Please pray for his conversion.

A young-adult Christian man came and chose a Rosary, and then asked if he could bring his friends for one, too. Of course! He came back several times. First, he brought 3 more young adults to get Rosaries. Then, he wanted to exchange his for a different one. Then, he brought one more young-adult man to get a Rosary. We explained the devotion to each of them and encouraged them to use the Rosary reverently for prayer.

A mother, dressed somewhat conservatively but sporting really black hair, stopped and wanted two Rosaries, one for herself and one for her 11-year-old daughter. She chose the two nicest ones, that is, the only two chain Rosaries we had out. One evangelist suggested she come back next week if she wanted a second Rosary, but the other evangelist convinced her to take a small one that she had made for little children.

Despite the cold wind, a 20-something man, on a bright green skateboard was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. He rolled up to us on his skateboard to look at the Rosaries. As we explained the prayer, he suddenly asked us if we were familiar with the book of Genesis and Ezekiel, but was not clear about what he wanted us to understand about them. He handed back the Rosary pamphlet, but continued trying to decide on a Rosary color. Finally, he started to pick one up, but then he set it back down, declared that he didn’t need it and rode away. He continued to ride around in the business plaza but never made eye contact with us again. Please pray that he puts his full faith in Jesus Christ.

A woman with two French bulldogs accepted compliments on her pets, but didn’t accept a Rosary.

A group of at least three 20-something people approached. The man was enthusiastic about receiving a Rosary, and the blonde woman with him, who was wrapped in a child-themed blanket, also accepted one, though perhaps only out of politeness. Lord, lead them to Yourself and salvation!

Another group, this one of three teenaged boys, were eager to receive Rosaries. At least one of them was Catholic. Lord, protect them and save them!

Some kind of mining exposition was being set up that looked like it would eventually encompass half the business park, so we moved to the opposite end from our usual spot. The weather had also changed to chilly. Still, we had a pretty steady stream of visitors, and gave away some 20-30 Rosaries and its pamphlet.

Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s effort.

We’re grateful for the continued enthusiasm people show for the Rosary and we pray that we can communicate God’s peace. So, thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and bless you and all those you love!

“Go with the strength you have” (Judg 6:14).
