Jesus, Prince of Peace - 2025-Nov-02
November 9, 2025
A few of our encounters could have been anything but peaceful. So, thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
Neatly dressed 30-somethings, man and woman, approached our table but seemed uncomfortable. The man asked us to “explain the Rosary”. The evangelist asked if they were Christian. They were. So, she described the Rosary as a series of Christ-centered meditations. After hearing that, the man accepted a copy of the Rosary pamphlet from e. Lucy, and the woman took the one that e. Nancy offered her. Neither, however, chose a Rosary. Lord, bless these people for their respectful approach and grant unity again among all Christians.
“Marty” stopped by to say hi. He asked after e. Chuck, who was out this week hunting deer with his son and daughter. Lord, we again ask you to free Marty from his health problems and from what is causing them, and to grant Chuck safe travel, successful hunting, and safe return.
A short woman passed by, bundled up against the cool breeze and showing only part of her face through her head scarves. She angrily declined our offer of a Rosary, walking rapidly on. Because the sound system was turned up so loud, about the only words we caught were “racism” and “restitution”. May God calm her anger and heal her heart.
A homeless-seeming woman, with no teeth and prematurely aged features, stopped for another Rosary. She took her time, looking at every Rosary on the table. Finally, she chose the nicest, our very last chain one. Although she has been known to become agitated shortly after receiving a Rosary, this time she remained quiet as she walked away. Lord, You know her needs. Please heal her and lead her to You, Who alone can fulfill the desire of her heart.
An out-of-town family of four stopped, the children in their upper teens. When asked if they were familiar with the Rosary, the woman started listing relatives who ran various departments for various parishes back in their home state. They offered us a donation, which we politely declined. Lord, bless that entire family and grant them the grace to remain Faithful!
A homeless-looking man responded to our offer of a free Rosary and headed to the table, bringing along his very overweight but seemingly mellow dog, of a breed known for its fighting ability. The dog smelled strongly of an illicit substance (that was maybe being carried in its backpack?). The man chose a Rosary and accepted its pamphlet on how to pray it. Then, he started complaining that he’d lost his wallet, perhaps as a prelude to asking us for money. However, just then a group of three or four teens came to the table, interested in the Rosary. Our attention turned to them (since we don’t bring money with us (cf. Mark 6:8)). So, the man took his leave.
The clean-cut teens said they were Christian, and one of the girls was wearing a necklace with a sideways cross on it. They weren’t familiar with the Rosary, so we explained the devotion and they each chose one for him- or herself. The young man in the group also took a copy of the Our Lady un-tier of Knots prayer card.
Altogether, we gave away 20-25 Rosaries and its pamphlet, as well as 1 Our Lady Untier of Knots prayer card.
Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit comes of today’s efforts.
We credit God for granting us peace during our outings. So, thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love.
“They are happy, whose strength is in you, in whose hearts are the roads to Zion” (Ps 84:6).
