Our Unchanging Need for God - 2025-Dec-14
December 21, 2025
God is still reaching out to people. So, thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
Just when I thought we’d run out of the chain Rosaries that we’d brought for the session, I looked in our bag. And there was another whole baggie of chain Rosaries! And, although most chain Rosaries donated to us are distinctly individual, I recognized several in the new group that were identical to ones that visitors had just chosen. God is so good! He repeatedly blesses this apostolate! (And may He again bless our so generous Rosary makers!)
“Alex”, an environmental worker for the business park, was checking and repairing the Christmas light displays when he paused to chat with e. Chuck. Although our visitor had been raised Catholic, he now identified as a “non-denominational Christian”. Asked why he made the switch, he gave three reasons: he thought non-Catholic Christianity was simpler, he didn’t like politics preached from the pulpit (which he’d encountered in a different diocese), and he thought the Pope was an unnecessary, political figure. He also thought that all Chrisitan churches were the same, and it didn’t matter where you attended. The evangelist shared his own conversion to Catholicism, and how the historicity and authority of the Church brought him in. Then Alex admitted that he sometimes went to Mass, and that a friend had invited him to the Catholic Men’s Conference next month. Later, he stopped at the table again and picked up a Rosary for his mother. Pray for Alex’s friend, may the Holy Spirit guide him as he points Alex back to the Catholic Church, and pray that Alex’s eyes are opened to the fullness of faith to be found in Catholicism.
“Erica”, a young-adult woman , was very excited to get a free Rosary and, being new to the area, was wondering where she could go to Mass. That morning she had accidently attended church at the Episcopal cathedral thinking it was Catholic and, once she figured it out, she was too embarrassed to leave. We gave her a map to area parishes and let her know there was an evening Mass just a few blocks away at the Catholic cathedral. Happy at the chance to attend Mass, she was also pleased that e. Nancy would be there, too. Pray that Erica perseveres in her love of Christ in the Mass, and help her connect with other faithful Catholics in the area.
A family of four stopped. They told us they were from another country and attended a national church not in full communion with Rome. The mom changed her mind several times about which Rosary she wanted. The younger daughter made a choice, but the father insisted she choose another one instead. The older daughter just said no thank you. The father kept making fun of their national liturgy, pretending to sing nonsense syllables. He didn’t take a Rosary. Lord, please bless that family. Grant them reverence toward You and the Rosary. You know all of their needs.
A teenage boy stopped for a Rosary while the teen with him walked on. The boy said he had several Rosaries, but seemed unfamiliar with its use for prayer. So, although he seemed to be in a hurry, the evangelist gave him a quick explanation on how to use it to spend time thinking about all the Jesus has done for us. He graciously thanked us before moving on. Lord, despite the distractions around him, draw him to You and salvation!
E. Nancy reported: “I’m always impressed with people willing to take a chance and stop and talk to us. Time is valuable. And so many people walk by with weight of the world in their shoulders and no joy on their faces. So much prayer is needed.”
Altogether, we three evangelists gave away another 25-30 Rosaries and its pamphlet, as well as 1-2 maps to area parishes.
Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.
The Catholic Church is substantially unique, and God blesses us through reverent meditation on the Mysteries of the Rosary. So, thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
“Go with the strength you have” (Judg 6:14).
