Only God Satisfies - 2026-Jan-25

February 1, 2026

Only God can satisfy the human heart. So, thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
At the beginning of the session, there were two different encounters with young-adult men who were happy to get a Rosary. One said his Rosary was in his car, all broken. He seemed sad about that and was relieved to get another one. Another young-adult man said his Crucifix (he called it simply a cross) had broken off the Rosary he had. He also seemed very happy to get another.
During the session, two other people stopped to ask our views on immigration. They told us about the protest that had been going on, one street over, near City Hall.
The first was a Catholic man, an active member of a large Catholic men’s organization, who was riding a bicycle with a 12-inch American flag prominently attached. His theology seemed to reflect a desire to depend on politics for social solutions, although he seemed tired of protests and “protest-ism”. He was emotional about what he perceived government-sanctioned injustice in various communities. We encouraged him to pray the Rosary daily for peace, but he didn’t seem very open to the idea.
The second man, who stopped later in the session, was a nonbeliever who was appalled at the growing violence and injustice he perceives in our society. He asked where the Catholic Church stood on the issue, and one evangelist mentioned the public letters published by our national body of Catholic Bishops. Our visitor showed no interest in looking up the letters but seemed relieved that the Catholic Church promoted peaceful and just solutions to the thorny issues. He thanked us for being there. Although we encouraged him to pray, he felt that the best he could do was post pictures on social media from our local Anne Frank Memorial.
Lord, confirm both men in their desires for peace and true justice and grant them Your wisdom in addressing these issues.
Two young-adult, non-Catholic Christian women expressed interest in the Rosaries. We explained how the devotion helps you grow closer to Christ, and they each chose one and accepted its pamphlet on how to pray it. Lord, draw them to actually pray the Rosary and develop a more intimate relationship with You.
A fashionably dressed couple, who were not Christian, stopped when the woman expressed interest in the Rosary. We explained it as a way to get to know Who Jesus is, and the peace and protection that comes when questions are reverently brought to Him into the meditations. She chose a nice chain one and accepted the Rosary pamphlet. Lord, open their eyes to see the truth of Christianity and bring them both to You and salvation.
“Uwe” stopped by to comment cheerfully on the weather. The evangelist wasn’t able to steer the conversation around to faith, but at least the interaction was cordial. Lord, continue to draw Uwe to You!
“The merchant” stopped by and the evangelist had to physically stop him from taking a Rosary, offering him instead his choice of a bookmark or pamphlet. He chose a Divine Mercy bookmark and, when the evangelist again prevented him from taking a Rosary, he shrugged and took his leave. Lord, show him the value of a relationship with You!
A young-adult Catholic woman named “Kelsie” stopped, curious about the Rosaries. She seemed to want to know who made the Rosaries, who we were and why we were at the plaza, where we went to church, and our names. Not only does she attend e. Nancy’s parish, but also a daily Mass with some local monks. Lord, bless her in her Catholic faith and help her walk in Your light.
One young-adult man was happy to see the Rosaries. He had one tattooed around his neck, but he was happy to receive a real one. Lord, draw him to use the Rosary devotion to grow closer to You.
There were several teens and young-adult people who stopped, Christian but not Catholic, and who wanted a Rosary. They listened attentively to our explanation of the Christ-centered devotion and each chose one for him- or herself. Lord, bring each of them every closer to You!
In fact, several people told us they were Catholic and had plenty of Rosaries.
A woman, accompanying a perhaps 12-year-old girl, stopped on their way into the sports arena. The woman was not Christian, but thought the idea of a Rosary interesting. The girl wanted a Rosary in colors of the team they were heading in to support, but we didn’t have one. The mom then chose one in a local university’s colors, and accepted the explanation that the Rosary meditations help you get to know who Christ is. May the Lord draw both mother and daughter to Himself and salvation.
A young man said he belonged to a religion with many deities but had a Christian girlfriend. He also said he had a Bible and would read it, and was interested in different religions. He listened to our explanation of the Rosary and chose one for his girlfriend. Lord, You have given him restlessness of mind about religion so he becomes open to encounter You. Keep drawing him into full communion with You.
A man said he was Christian. He didn’t want a Rosary for himself, but had a friend who either grew up Catholic or used to be Catholic. He selected a Rosary for his friend. Later, he came back to the table and said that, after thinking about it, he wanted one for himself. He was very nice about it. Lord, bless both the man and his friend with the life that only You can give!
Altogether, we gave away another 30-35 Rosaries and its pamphlet on how to pray it, as well as 1 map of area parishes.
Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us with hearts open to perceive their need for Our Lord Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit comes of today’s efforts.
People have deep needs for meaning and satisfaction. We  point to the One Who can satisfy them. So, thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless  you and all those you love!

“Go with the strength you have” (Judg 6:14).
