Inner Longing for God - 2026-Feb-15

February 22, 2026

The human heart longs for God. So, thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
We asked 4 people if we could pray with them, 2 accepted. One was a young-adult woman, evidently raised in a non-Catholic Christian national church; the man with her was also Christian of some non-Catholic stripe. The woman finally named a prayer intention: a male relative who is battling cancer. The three of us prayed for him. Lord, we again ask Your mercy and that you would restore the man to good health and let him know that it’s You who saves him.
A second man accepted prayer. He was a homeless-looking person who had chosen a Rosary for himself. He declined receiving the Rosary pamphlet because he’d lost a lot of his eyesight from a stroke three years earlier. We let him know where to find audio versions of the Rosary. He then asked us to pray that he’d be healed of the rest of the damage from the stroke: not only for restored vision but for a return of strength to his lower right leg and that his toes become uncurled. E. Lucy led us in prayer for Jesus to restore his health. But the business park’s sound system was so loud that he didn’t hear us ask if he’d noticed any change. He took his leave, though, without limping. Lord, continue to let him know Your love!
A couple of large Catholic families stopped so some of the children could get a Rosary. We encouraged the families to pray the Rosary together. Lord, bless each of Your dear children.
Three boys in their early teens stopped at the word “free” and came to the table. They considered themselves Christian, though they couldn’t name their church. They were polite and listened carefully as we explained the devotion and the benefits that come from praying it reverently. Lord, draw them to actually use the Rosary for prayer and let them know You.
Two older teens (or young adults?) on bicycles stopped for a Rosary. The young woman with bright green hair wanted one in the particular yellow-green that highlighted her bicycle. Since we didn’t have any in that color, she chose a chain Rosary with jade beads. But then she proceeded to try to attach it to the bottom of her bicycle’s seat, where it would have gotten tangled in the wheel in no time. However, she also didn’t want to just carry the Rosary in her pocket, and so she traded it for a string Rosary in a pearlized kelly green. The man, meanwhile, had attached his blue Rosary under the seat of his blue-highlighted bike. (This was so hard to watch!) E. Lucy explained to the woman that just having a Rosary wasn’t magical, that if she wanted the protection that comes from it, she would have to actually use it reverently for prayer and meditation on the life of Christ. Lord, draw them to actually use the Rosary for prayer and not just decoration. And, Lord, grant this couple conversion of heart so they may seek a relationship of love with You, their God.
Although, a well-dressed family declined receiving a Rosary, the man called out, “Jesus is alive” three times, and then, “Jesus is coming soon.” Amen, amen! May their faith in Christ grow in spirit and truth.
One man stopped for a Rosary and told us that his daughter (or daughter-in-law?) was Catholic and would teach him the Rosary. Lord, grant him a deeper relationship with You through his meditations on the Mysteries of Your life!
There was a young-adult couple on foot. She was Catholic and he was not. He hung back awhile but finally accepted our encouragement to pick out a Rosary. We encouraged her to teach him the prayer. She smiled a lot and he did not. Lord, may her faith bloom so that his faith grows.
One evangelist has a partial memory of a small group of teenage boys on foot who selected Rosaries. They didn’t talk much, if at all. He thinks one of the boys nodded his head when asked if they were Christian. They were polite listeners, at least. Lord, save them!
A family with father, pregnant wife, three young children, and two older women (the grandmothers?) stopped. They are parishioners at e. Nancy’s parish. Two of the little boys wore ties; one is a student at a Catholic grade school, and the other is a student at a Catholic preschool. The father said he had “plenty of Rosaries and pamphlets” but told us that he thought it was great that we were out there giving away Rosaries. One grandmother, the wife, and each child picked a Rosary. The other older lady stood back and acted disinterested. Lord, bless this family with peace and keep them Faithful!
A whole group of young adults, accompanying a few small children, stopped when some of them wanted a Rosary. We don’t think any were Catholic. The smallest child was an approximately 3-year-old girl, who wanted the smallest blue Rosary on the table. However, it was too small to fit over her head, although she desperately wanted it to, and she didn’t want to trade it for a bigger Rosary. Her slightly older brother was very patient with her and helped her understand that she could keep it in her pocket. Lord, bless these children with the gift of enduring Faith in You!
A middle-aged couple from a nearby state were Catholic and happily told us what parish they attended. As we recall, there were two older women with them, one of whom wanted a Rosary and the other didn’t. The man asked about Ash Wednesday Mass, and e. Nancy told him about the nearby Cathedral. Lord, bless these people in their travels and grant them safe return.
Another couple who stopped were from a different region of the same nearby state. The woman said she had forgotten her Rosary and was pleased to get one while she was out of town. She chose one, but then noticed the chain Rosary on the table. We overheard her tell the man that she only had a Rosary ring with her and really wanted the fancier Rosary. So, we allowed her to trade. Lord, bless her during her prayer time with this special Rosary!
Another young-adult couple walked by. E. Nancy could tell that the man saw us but was acting disinterested. However, the moment we offered him a Rosary, he whirled around and happily chose one, listening politely to our brief explanation of the devotion. The woman with him opted out. Lord, draw that man to actually pray the Rosary and let Him know Your great love for him.
A middle-aged woman, accompanied by two other people, hesitated at our offer of a Rosary. She took a step toward us, hesitated some more, and then said, “No, never mind”, and walked away. Lord, You know the conflict raging in her heart. You also know that she’s still drawn to You. Please heal her memories and restore her to Faith.
Quite a few groups called out that they were Catholic and already had “lots of Rosaries”. Lord, keep them all Faithful!
God granted us beautiful weather for the session, and so lots of people were out and about. However, the business park’s sound system was set at such a brain-rattlingly loud volume that it was difficult to hear or be heard. Still, the three evangelists were able to give away another 25 or so Rosaries and its pamphlet on how to pray it, as well as 2 Divine Mercy prayer cards.
Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.
The Lord continues to draw souls to Himself and salvation. So, thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

“Go with the strength you have” (Judg 6:14).
