These times are a test of obedience, aren’t they? - 2020-03-29
April 12, 2020
These times are a test of obedience, aren’t they? The governor of our state has mandated “stay at home” for everyone, except for necessities such as medicine and food. Our bishop has closed all churches and suspended all services, including Eucharistic Adoration chapels.
Therefore, we cannot do “street evangelization” in public at this time. So, we are doing the only thing possible: praying our hearts out for the conversion of sinners, and the finding of the lost.
Last week, two of us evangelists prayed all 20 decades of the Rosary at the same time, but separately in our own homes. Perhaps you joined us, too?
We prefaced our recitation of the Rosary with bishops’ prayers for those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Here are two from the Diocese of Detroit:
A prayer for the sick especially those suffering from the coronavirus.
Loving God, you sent your son Jesus Christ to heal the sick. We ask you to come to our aid in the midst of the coronavirus crisis that we too may experience your healing love. We ask you to heal those who are sick. Calm those who are living in fear. Be with those who have died and comfort their families. Inspire health professionals to aid them in their healing work. Guide national leaders to lead and make decisions with wisdom. Help us to always be aware of your presence as we place our trust in you. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Prayer for an end to the coronavirus crisis
Loving God, we come before you in our time of need. We lay before you our concerns and fears over the spread of the coronavirus. We know that you are mightier than all our fears and that the name of Jesus is the name above all other names. We ask, in the name of Jesus, that you stop the spread of the coronavirus. In your mercy, heal those who are sick and lead those who have died into your heavenly kingdom. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
We plan to pray the entire Rosary again this afternoon at our usual evangelization time. Please join us in prayer for the salvation of souls?
This is a time of immense danger for many souls. So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
‘If evil comes upon us, the sword of judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house and before you, for your name is in this house, and we will cry out to you in our affliction, and you will hear and save!’ (2 Chronicles 20:9)
