Only Jesus can bring full healing - 2020-12-27
January 3, 2021
Some people carry a lot of pain, and only Jesus can bring full healing. So thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
We gave a "What About Mary?" pamphlet went to regular visitor “John”, the parking lot attendant. He may not have wanted the pamphlet, but had pointed it out, and graciously accepted a copy.
A large family group stopped. The teenage girl that e. Chuck talked to said she was "very Catholic" and knew all about the Rosary. The father/uncle said he knew all about the Rosary, too, because when he was a kid the nuns at his school used it as punishment. He chose a Rosary and accepted a pamphlet on how to pray it, but his focus stayed on his resentment over his time in Catholic school. May Mother Mary and her Rosary help him forgive and draw him back to her Son's Church.
A family group of 3 adult women stopped. The mother and one of the adult daughters each accepted a Rosary.
One man from a group accepted the pink Rosary that e. Lucy was holding. Another man from the same group wanted a black Rosary.
A homeless-looking man stopped. He asked e. Lucy to choose a Rosary for him. She gave him a black one. He was disappointed that it was too small to fit over his head, but readily accepted the suggestion to use a belt loop to secure it.
A 20-something man came alone to our table. He requested a pure white Rosary.
A teenage girl requested an all-tan Rosary.
Another family went by, happily claiming to be Catholic. We asked them to pray for us.
“Mr. Steel Crewcut” and “Mr. Angry Atheist” both went by, in fairly close succession. They each exchanged pleasantries with e. Chuck about the (penetratingly cold and damp) weather.
A young couple stopped. When asked if they were Christian, she responded that she was, but he claimed membership in a pseudo-Christian cult, which he described as "pretty much Christian". We encouraged them to spend time meditating on the life of Christ in the Rosary.
A man accepted a Rosary and said he prayed all the time. He then revealed he had just gotten out of jail and needed money. Pray he does not fall into old habits.
Altogether, the two evangelists gave away 10-12 Rosaries and its pamphlet, as well as a copy of our “What About Mary?” pamphlet.
Please pray for us again today? Please ask that God send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.
May God use our presence to lead his beloved children to reconciliation with him. So thank you again for your prayers for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love.
"Go with the strength you have“ (Judg 6:14).
