We’re seeing more families with young children - 2021-01-24
February 1, 2021
We’re seeing more families with young children. So thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort. Two evangelists were available.
“Meredith” was accompanied by her children, “Henry” (6 years old), and twins “Mary Margaret” and “William” (3 years old). She told us she had the children out for their first outing since March 2020. Seriously? Yes, the two younger ones have serious medical issues, but had just received clearance from their doctor to go out, as long as they wore masks. Catholic, they belong to e. Chuck's parish (but remain unable to attend Mass). Meredith allowed each child to choose a Rosary. She said she'd try again to pray it nightly with them. She has already made a routine of reading the new Word on Fire devotional Bible to them. Please pray for this family?
"Michael", 30 years old, told e. Lucy that he'd been raised Catholic, but left at the age of 15 for non-Catholic Christian denomination where the services were more "fun." Now that he's older, he realizes that standing and waving hands in the air is not the most important part of worship. He gladly received a Rosary, its booklet, and a mini-refresher course on how to pray it. Please pray he comes back home to the Church?
Another family with at least three children stopped. The children and the dad each received a Rosary. The mom already had one at home, she said. We encouraged especially the dad to pray it daily for protection for his family.
Two women, late teens or early 20s, stopped. They each chose a pink Rosary. They paused long enough for a brief explanation of the devotion.
Two men in their 20s stopped for a Rosary apiece. We encouraged them to pray it daily.
A man stopped to ask if we remembered him from two years ago when he picked up a Rosary just before he went on his travels. It was early in e. Chuck’s street evangelism career, but he remembered that our visitor had been riding a fat-tire bike and was leaving for Spain the next day. He said he did carry the cross (he did not refer to it as a Rosary) through three countries, as well as on a short section of the Camino de Santiago, and that he still had the cross at home. E. Lucy offered him another Rosary he could pray with, but he declined. Pray that he begins to see the Cross as more than a mere symbol.
The two evangelist gave away at least 12 Rosaries and the pamphlet on how to pray it.
Please pray for us again today? Ask that God sends people to us prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.
Still trying to connect people with Jesus through Mary. So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
"Go with the strength you have“ (Judg 6:14).
