May 3, 2021

Feeling called to try street evangelization, first-time evangelist "e. Pam" joined us. People responded well to her! So thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.

A man stopped who was not Catholic. He declined receiving the Catechism, but accepted a Rosary and its pamphlet, as well as encouragement from e. Chuck to use it to grow closer to Christ.

A 20-something man stopped to say he wasn't interested in Catholic things because he had a bad breakup with a Catholic girlfriend. He was, however, somewhat curious about the Catholic Church, since noticed he had a pattern of picking girlfriends who are Catholic. His idea of the difference between Catholics and non-Catholic Christians is that we have to pray to Saints and he can just go directly to God. E. Lucy explained the reality of prayer, but he still declined any pamphlets that would help him understand further. Then e. Pam stepped forward and put a Rosary and the Mysteries in his hand, which he awkwardly accepted. May Our Lady help him see the true Church past his emotional pain.

Another man came to the table wanting pamphlets, as many as we would give him, in order to help him understand what Catholics believe. He described himself as mostly a follower of an early heretical break-off from Christianity. He appreciated that the Catholic Bible was bigger than non-Catholic Christian ones, but he thought it should include all the apocryphal writings. We tried to help him see that we need the authority of the Church and the guidance of the Holy Spirit rather than our own curiosity to decide what is necessary and true. He accepted the stack of pamphlets and a Rosary, he said his girlfriend is Catholic. Please pray the Holy Spirit guides him from his personal theories to Catholic truth.

One teenage girl out of a group of three circled back on her scooter to accept a Rosary and brief explanation of the devotion. Somewhat later, her two companions came back. Each claimed a Rosary of her own. The girl e. Chuck talked to knew Jesus, and was thankful to hear the Rosary prayers draw us closer to Christ. Meanwhile, e. Lucy gave a copy of the kerygma to the other girl, who was unsure whether she followed Christ. Mother Mary, guide their young hearts to your Son.

Two girls in their early teens were among the first to accept a Rosary from us after e. Chuck explained how to use it to grow closer to Christ. Later in the session, e. Chuck thought they were passing by us again. But it turns out that one was the older sister of the first girls. These two girls also accepted a Rosary apiece.

A man went by. When e. Chuck offered him a Rosary, he patted his pocket to let him know he already had one. E. Chuck asked him to pray it for us.

An older man accepted a Rosary and its pamphlet. After we explained how and why to pray it, he replied, "Well, I have some reading material now." May the Mysteries draw him into the union with Christ that is prayer.

Altogether, the three evangelists gave away 15-20 Rosaries and its pamphlet, "one each, please" of all of our pamphlets on the table, and an additional copy of the Good New/kerygma pamphlet.

Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s session.

God is still calling people to spread the Good News of Salvation in His Son! So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
