The first 100 people to whom we offered Rosaries said no - 2021-06-13

June 20, 2021

The first 100 people to whom we offered Rosaries said no, although two said they already had one. So your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort were most welcome, and needed! Thank you!

This was an unusually high rejection rate, even for us. Eventually, e. Lucy thought to send a silent prayer of trust to Jesus, "Jesus, will You take care of it?" Immediately, a family of 3 (mom, 2 children) stopped for a Rosary apiece. The mom is not Catholic, but her children go to the Catholic school in e. Lucy's parish. They talked briefly about the new priests being assigned there. E. Lucy showed how the Rosary helps people grow closer to Jesus Christ and encouraged the mom to have the whole family pray the Rosary together.

A man stopped for a Rosary. Christian, but not Catholic, he was pleased to find out that the Rosary is centered on Christ and on deepening our relationship with Him.

A short stocky man, who also identified as a non-Catholic Christian, stopped and talked with e. Chuck. He told Chuck that he prayed many different prayers through the day (implying he thought Catholics only prayed the Rosary). Chuck assured him that Catholics did, too, and that, with the Rosary in hand, he could add another powerful prayer to his day.

Many of our other encounters were of people choosing a Rosary from our hand and leaving, pausing barely long enough to receive the pamphlet on how to pray it. The weather had just turned hot, so people may have been in a hurry, perhaps to get someplace cool.

Even with no takers for half the session, the two evangelists still gave away about 15 Rosaries and its pamphlet. Bright blue Rosaries were most popular, followed by white, and then ones with wooden beads.

Please pray for us again today? Please ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

We rely on your prayers for this, God’s apostolate. So thank you again for your prayers and other support! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
