Patience and Perseverance - 2022-01-23
February 8, 2022
[Patience and Perseverance] It was a bitterly cold afternoon last week, with very little foot traffic. Our one available evangelist was pretty sure he was being taught patience and perseverance! So thank you for your ongoing prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort!
The woman half of a young couple stopped for a Rosary. All she knew about them is that her grandmother used “to use one”. So e. Chuck explained the prayer and gave her the pamphlet on how to pray it. Then she revealed that her mother had died two months ago and she wanted to hang the Rosary on her urn. May her grief turn her mind to her own mortality and her deep need for Christ in her life.
“John” stopped by to show a video of “Myron” walking in rehab. Thank you again for your prayers for both John and his coworker, Myron. And praise God for His great love and merciful healing power!
A man swung close to the table, but then declined a Rosary, saying, “If I touch anything sacred that isn’t mine, it burns my skin.” Pray for his conversion and salvation.
A large Catholic family who attend a local parish stopped for a Rosary, taking only one for someone whose name the evangelist didn’t catch. Pray that whoever receives the Rosary finds peace and protection in praying it.
One of two women passing by declined a Rosary because she “is not Catholic” but, before e. Chuck could assure her it was a prayer for all Christians, her friend decided she wanted a Rosary. The second woman also wanted to know how to pray it. Mother Mary, pray that her love for your Son deepens through this prayer.
A passing college-aged woman pulled a Rosary out of her pocket to show she didn’t need one. Holy Mother, pray for her protection and perseverance in the Faith.
Two men, named “Zachariah” and “Red”, came to the table, but only Zachariah wanted a Rosary. He listened attentively to how to pray it, then asked if the evangelist would put it over his head. Red declined a Rosary because he had “other spiritualities”, but said he was glad we had the table out to encourage prayer. Pray for Red’s conversion and Zachariah’s faith to grow deeper and truer.
Even with very light foot traffic, e. Chuck gave away 4 Rosaries (two chain, two string) and its pamphlet.
Please pray for us again today? Ask that God prepares people’s heart to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.
Some people still need to encounter believers, so thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate! In turn, may God protect and bless you and all those you love!
“Go with the strength you have” (Judg 6:14).
