Greetings!
We had a wonderful day evangelizing! The weather was beautiful and the people open to speaking about God.
Please keep the following in prayer:
Healing from prostate cancer and that insurance will help in paying for treatment for Bob Coss.
Dave and Teresa who left the church many years ago and attend a non-denominational church. They told us about their parents’ marriage/divorce issues which caused them to leave the Church. After talking about several other issues that they had trouble with and asking them for any prayer intentions, THEY offered to pray for US. It was a beautiful thing to see the Christian love in this encounter.
Rosio and her unborn baby due in June.
A man’s grandchildren who do not go to church. He was excited to have each of them receive a rosary and a pamphlet on how to pray it. We also introduced the children to the Guardian Angel prayer that they can pray every day for protection and guidance.
Emily and Kelsey, two sisters who were baptized in the Catholic church as babies but never received any other sacraments. They expressed disappointment that they never continued in their Catholic teaching because they would like to go back to church. We are now looking into getting them involved in a local Alpha course which is a series of sessions that explore the basics of the Christian faith in an open, friendly, and informal environment (with dinner!). This is a great course as a precursor to RCIA.
As always, please pray for ALL those who walked past our table today. Pray that their hearts and minds would be touched by the love of Christ and drawn to Him and His Church.

May 27, 2017 Update
September 16, 2019
Greetings!
Well, the Lord kept the rain away while we were down evangelizing on the “Creek”! We had a great day talking and praying with people.
Please keep the following in your prayers:
Please pray for the health of the older fathers of a couple that we spoke to. The fathers’ names are Guy and Bud. The couple was grateful to see us and very encouraging of the work.
Please pray for Karen who is a homeless woman with MS. She felt prayer hadn’t done anything for her and was not interested in a rosary but sat down and talked with us. After a while we asked if we could pray with her. She accepted and then accepted a rosary and a guardian angel medal. We encouraged her to pray daily- to ask our Lord to help her throughout her day and to help her to endure her hardships.
Please pray for a young girl and her mother who were excited to receive a guardian angel medal for her backpack. As we talked about the medal being a holy reminder of her guardian angel and the importance of asking her angel for protection and guidance throughout her day, her mom said, ” I do something like that already!” Though not Catholic, the mother realized the importance of asking for Divine protection for her daughter on a daily basis.
Please pray for a woman named Joan who left the Roman Catholic Church for the Episcopal Church in 2000 due to the fact that they allow for married and women priests. May the Lord guide her enthusiasm back to the truth of the Catholic Church.
Please pray for a woman who came up to us and stood in line to ask for prayer. She was so sweet-Her best friend had died the day before and she saw our sign which says, “Catholic Truth- Got questions?, Free Literature, Need Prayer?, Find True Joy!” and came for the consolation that only prayer can give.
Please pray for Kelly, Bobby and Joanna who are going through rehab at local rehab houses. The women are at the Gale House and the men at Will House. Kelly was thrilled to receive a rosary and a guardian angel medal to help in her recovery. She was like an evangelist herself, asking for rosaries and medals for every woman in the Gale House, regardless of whether they were ‘religious’ or not. She said they would all be thrilled to receive them and that they need them whether they realize it or not!” Bobby told us about his life which led to substance abuse- so sad! He said that he has overdosed 4 times and been revived each time. Through his suffering, he has learned the need for prayer. Joanna was one of those who was ‘not religious’ and yet, continued to talk to us and allowed us to pray for her and the others right there on the creek. It was beautiful.
As we talked to them about their challenges, they pointed out what to look for in someone who sells drugs which is a big temptation for them to try to avoid. They said that they are everywhere. Soon after that, we had a young man, who had been sitting on a nearby bench, walk past us. We offered him a rosary. He wouldn’t even look at us and had a belligerent attitude. Afterwards, we realized that he was probably a dealer and it was clear that there had been a clash of good vs. evil as he walked past! Please pray for the power of the Holy Spirit to pierce through the darkness that grips him!
Finally, we met Will and his mother. Will also was in rehab in Frederick and his mother had come to visit with him for the day. They were grateful for our presence there and asked for our prayers to help Will be successful in his recovery.
Many more rosaries and prayers were given out yesterday by Gary, Nash and myself. Please keep this ministry in your prayers.
God Bless,
stephanie

Next outing Saturday, October 29th, 3-5 pm
September 16, 2019
Greetings!
The next SPSE outing for the Frederick team will be this Saturday, October 29th from 3-5 pm at Carroll Creek Linear Park in front of Sweeties Ice Cream.
Also, to plan ahead, we will be having the November outing on Saturday, November 26th from 3-5 pm.
This past Sunday, Pope Francis spoke these words to us- the Church: “Today is a time of mission and a time of courage!”
It was a reflection of St. Paul’s work of evangelization and mission; not very different from what we are still called to do today.
The work to evangelize and to be missionary disciples requires COURAGE! Let’s continue to rise to the call!
I want to encourage anyone who has been timid about joining us to please come! We will walk you through what to do- it really is easy once you get started.
Looking forward to seeing you this weekend!
Peace,
stephanie
