The Virtual Street Evangelization Workshop is a hands-on evangelization training event. When so many efforts to promote the New Evangelization are focused primarily on catechesis about evangelization, this workshop teaches Catholics, no matter their previous education or experience, how to share their faith effectively and enthusiastically with the people they encounter out on the street.

During this workshop, you will hear presentations by experienced evangelists that teach and model the SPSE method of direct evangelization. After each lesson, participants will get a chance to practice and sharpen their skills in small group breakout sessions. The workshop equips participants with the skills and confidence they need to start evangelizing.

Among the skills you will learn are:

▪ How to start and direct a conversation towards faith in Jesus and the Church
▪ How to share what God has done in your life
▪ How to share the Gospel message
▪ How to pray out loud with someone
▪ How to invite someone to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ

On Vacation

Tempe, AZ. My wife and I were on vacation in Tempe, Arizona. I walk a lot and needed a new pair of walking shoes, so we went to a local sporting goods store. I picked out my shoes and before I got to the counter to pay for them, three clerks came up and said they liked the Saint Benedict Crucifix I was wearing. I gave them each a crucifix and this opened the door to ask, are you Christian, what church do you attend, can I pray for you, can I do anything else for you? They put their crucifixes on right there in the store. I get a lot of comments on my crucifix and it opens the door for evangelization. I was on vacation, but the Holy Spirit still sent people to me!

Hotel Evangelization

Warren, MI. Recently, I was visiting family and stayed at a hotel. Before I left the check-in counter, I asked the clerk Maria if she needed prayer for anything because I like to pray for people. She said, “Well, maybe…my brother is struggling with alcoholism.” I asked if either went to church and she said “no”, but they both believe in God. So then I shared with her the story of a friend who had a successful construction company and was struggling with alcoholism and didn’t know what to do so he got on his knees and asked God to help him and when he got up the addiction had completely left him. Maria was surprised and said “what a coincidence because my brother also works in construction." I said, “Hey, this is no coincidence, and I encourage you to talk sometimes and tell him that Jesus can help him." Maria said, “I should” and shared a little more. I suggested that she go to church and she again said “I should”. I saw a customer behind me so I wrapped up by asking if she was Catholic and she said “yes I am!” I said "good, you should really go." Maria said “I should, thank you so much!” I said, “No problem, I’ll keep you both in prayer. God bless!”
