Stories from the Street
At 7:30 a.m. on Friday morning, many children are already playing in the streets of Barrio Bambang in Los Banos, The Phillipines. And so our SPSE team was there to meet them and begin to introduce them to Faith in Jesus Christ. The children in the picture, 6- to 9-years-old, had been both surprised and attracted by the evangelists’ sign, “wala pong bayad” (meaning, “all free”). They were enthusiastic about learning to pray the Rosary, and wanted to know more about Jesus Christ.
The evangelists gave each child a Rosary, Miraculous Medal, and a holy card. Then they promised to return to teach them more about the Faith. The team told us they “wish more people will join us because the harvests are so plenty. Please pray for us to have more recruits.”
Thank you, Los Banos Team! The Good News about Jesus Christ is as fresh and exciting today as it has ever been, and people the world over are hungry for Him. But our numbers are still too few. Please take a moment to send up a prayer for more evangelists for The Philippines — and then for your own hometown as well. Okay, did you do that? If so, thank you! This is God’s work, and He makes it possible. Now, let me ask: have you become a member of SPSE yet? If you have, thank you so much and may God bless you! If you haven’t joined us yet, please prayerfully consider doing so.
