Saturday night we went to a Pentecost Vigil Mass at Old St Mary’s in Detroit. After a beautiful period of worship, the parish held a ‘Light the Candle’ event to invite people into the church.

A woman named Wonda walked into the Church with her young daughter. It was pride week in Detroit, so she and her daughter were dressed up in colorful attire. She had come into the church to light a candle for the vigil and was moved by the beauty of the inside of the church. She came over to our prayer group and was seeking to be prayed over for her well-being. We asked if she needed any prayers for healing, and she responded that her hand had carpal tunnel and it was always in pain. Nodding, we came together and prayed over her hand for healing, as well as an outpouring of grace to continue seeking the Lord with her daughter. In just a few short moments, we finished our prayers and in tears she announced that the pain in her hand had left! We rejoiced with her for the miracle of healing that had taken place and shared the gospel with her and her daughter as she exited the church.

There were so many people I encountered while in Detroit. It was such a blessing to be able to tell people about Jesus Christ. This is the end of the stories from Detroit, but just the beginning many encounters with people through this ministry. Until next time when I get settled in Orlando,

God Bless
