As summer winds down, people still respond to seeing the Rosary. So, thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.

A “skin art” convention was going on in the sports center. A few (very few) of the attendees responded positively to our invitation of a free Rosary.

Two shirtless men coming out of the convention started approaching our table, then went back into a more shaded area. One man then took a couple of pictures of the other. After that, they headed to the table. The man taking the picture had an artistic picture of Christ wearing the crown of thorns. The other man said he’s Catholic and goes to a particular nearby parish. However, his new tattoo didn’t seem especially compatible with Christianity. Both men ended up selecting a Rosary and receiving the pamphlet on how to pray it, and then thanked us for bringing Catholicism into the public square. Lord, may the men’s willingness to endure pain translate into a willingness to do only God’s will, no matter the cost.

A man stopped for a Rosary because, he told us, he had recently moved and couldn’t find the one he already had. Lord, draw him to use his new Rosary for prayer and bring him to salvation!

A woman with very colorful makeup said she’d be back by for a Rosary, but we didn’t see her again before our session ended.

A couple visiting from halfway across the country didn’t want a Rosary, but chatted with e. Chuck for a few minutes about fly fishing.

A 30-something woman was passing by. When offered a Rosary, she made a face that puffed out her cheeks and then shouted, “No!” Lord, You can reach people who are hot or cold towards You. Please reach this woman, heal her, and bring her to You and salvation.

A group of six or eight especially large and tall people stopped so a couple of them could select a Rosary.

A previous visitor, who believes in just about anything and everything, stopped again and selected a Rosary.

“Marty” stopped to visit briefly with e. Chuck.

A 20ish couple were dressed in black. Her shirt displayed a logo of a problematic publishing company. But she told us that she was “somewhat familiar” with the Rosary and chose one for herself, as well as accepting the pamphlet on how to pray it. Lord, You attracted her to the Rosary. Please grant her hope in You and draw her to salvation.

A man, in his mid-20s and wearing a blue-striped polo shirt, smiled and thanked us as he accepted a Rosary and its pamphlet. Lord, please direct his thanks to You and smile on him.

A 20-something couple plus one other male were riding by on scooters. The couple stopped, said “Sure, we will take a Rosary”, and each chose one. Lord, hear their prayers for peace.

A 30-something couple with 2 kids came by. She was wearing a cowboy hat, and told us that they’d “just been to [a large city near an edge of the country]” and then each accepted a Rosary and its pamphlet. Lord, keep them safe in their travels and keep them close to You.

“Walter”, a man in his mid-20s who was dressed in black and wearing a t-shirt honoring a criminal, was one of the tattoo artists at the convention. He and another man came to the table while outside on break. They were very enthusiastic about picking out a Rosary apiece. But, when asked if they were familiar with it, Walter’s friend replied that he was “a recovering Catholic”. When the evangelist replied that we hoped he would recover his faith, he responded with a smile, and said that he loved God and was secure in his salvation. Then they turned and headed back to the convention, assuring us they were thankful for the Rosaries. May Our Lady’s prayers draw Walter and his friend into/back into communion with Christ and His Church.

A group of 4 males in their early 20s approached with curiosity. One, referring to the Rosary, asked, “What is it?” After hearing the explanation of the devotion, he responded, “Christ. OK, cool”. Another of the four told us that he “just got back from church”. They each ended up accepting only the Rosary pamphlet, but not a Rosary.

A 30ish male on scooter responded, “I don’t believe in that [expletive]” as he zoomed by. Then, in response to our prayer for God to bless him, he made an obscene gesture. Lord, grant that his heart of stone becomes one of flesh, and that he fall in love with the loving God Who made him.

A 25ish male on a scooter sped by. But then he made an abrupt U-turn and returned to say, “I don’t want you to think badly of me. I have a nice one [Rosary] at home.” Lord, bless the man for his thoughtfulness and draw him ever closer to Yourself through the Rosary devotion.

Three 20ish girls came to the table. Again, one said she was “somewhat familiar” with the devotion. E. Lucy encouraged them to pray it respectfully.

Two females in their early 20s, and with a few visible tattoos, approached. One said her Rosary was “ tattooed on her ankle”. Then she chose and orange Rosary and received its pamphlet.

For at least the second time that session, a 20ish woman passed the table and politely declined our offer of a Rosary. But she later came back saying she had changed her mind. When asked why the change of heart, she replied that she had not been able to find her Rosary for a couple of weeks and decided this was a good time to get another one. Pray that her prayers draws her into an ever deepening relationship with our Lord and Savior.

When we had just five minutes left before closing time, a large 30ish man paused briefly to say, “I’ll get one on my way back out”. Then he hurried into the convention before we could warn him that we might not be there. However, he did return just as we were putting the last few Rosaries away. He told us that he’s Catholic and goes to e. Chuck’s parish. He gladly accepted the pamphlet with the Rosary and shook our hands. May God bless the man and keep him trustworthy.

Altogether, we gave away 25-30 Rosaries and its pamphlet on how to pray it.

Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

We have hope that the positive responses to the Rosary from even seemingly hardened hearts means there’s hope for their salvation. So, thank you again for  your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
