God can heal the deepest wounds. So, thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.

A middle-aged couple, each walking a friendly but very tall dog, paused to talk with e. Chuck for a while. The man was a skeptic, believing all religions brought one to heaven. He couldn’t see any difference between them. The evangelist tried to show him the unique nature of Christianity, that believed in the God who doesn’t just make laws and judge but rushed to our rescue in person. At that, both of them began to complain about the non-Catholic church that their adult daughters attend in another state that has grown large by conforming to the sinful culture around them. The couple is hurt because one of the daughters has told them they, their parents, are going to hell because they don’t believe what this community teaches. The evangelist assured them that just because one micro-denomination teaches something, it should not lead them to believe that all churches are that way, The evangelist also explained some of the Catholic Church’s teaching on the subject in question, but they couldn’t see past their bitterness toward their daughters. Please pray for this family that may they seek the truth, accept it, and let it unite them in faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Two men passed, the man with the thick accent saying he had lots of Rosaries and faithfully prays it every day. Not long afterward, he came back saying he had a non-Christian friend with whom he had been talking about Christianity, and he thought maybe a Rosary would help her. He selected a Rosary and the pamphlet on how to pray it, as well as a “What About Mary?” pamphlet, and an Our Lady Untier of Knots prayer card. Please pray for a fruitful conversation between this man and his friend.

A Catholic man who works at a local airport stopped to encourage us.

A woman from a small country on another continent stopped for a Rosary “for her sister”. She is a lapsed Catholic. She said she tried to join a parish here in Boise, but had felt unwelcome when she tried to participate in a certain ministry. The experience had been painful enough that she “lost [her] faith”, she said. She showed us a photo of her deceased father, whom she described as “the strong Catholic in the family”. We sympathized with her story and encouraged her to try different parishes and to not give up on the Sacraments. She started edging away, though, before we finished talking and took her leave without accepting the map to area parishes that we offered. Lord, renew her faith, and grant her not only the ability to forgive but also the insight to not blame You for other people’s sins. Also, pray for all dysfunctional ministries in our parishes.

Two men and two women paused when the two young women rushed to the table to select a Rosary each. They were both Catholic and chose matching Rosaries. As they were starting to leave, one of the men asked if he, as a non-Catholic, could attend Mass. We assured him he could and that we were there every Sunday so if he had questions he could ask us. Please pray that the curiosity about the Mass that the Holy Spirit gave him will bear the fruit of conversion in his life.

A homeless-looking woman stopped for a Rosary, but was specific about what kind she wanted. We didn’t have any like that because we receive only what our so very generous Rosary makers can spare (and may God greatly bless them again and again!). We tried to direct the woman to a local Catholic supply store if she wanted to purchase a specific style of Rosary, but she moved on without further comment.

1. 1. Nancy also gave away three Our Lady Untier of Knots prayer cards. When she mentioned that Pope Francis loved that devotion, the recipient’s face each lit up.

One older man rode by on his bicycle. He first responded to e. Chuck’s offer of a Rosary with  “No”, and then amplified it to “No way.” Although the sound system in the business park had been mercifully silent during the first half of the session, at this point it had begun blaring and most of us couldn’t hear him. The man didn’t even slow down. May the Lord touch his heart and draw him to salvation.

A college student was talking to the other evangelists when the man with her (her dad?) told e. Nancy that the student “went to [the local university’s Newman center] ALL the time”. He seemed a little befuddled by that. Lord, continue to strengthen the young woman’s faith.

One lady (who may be homeless) asked for a Rosary, but no prayer brochure to go with it. She told us that the Rosary she got in the past has broken. E. Nancy offered to repair it for her if she brings it to us.  Lord, please grant the woman all the graces she needs to live a full Christian life.

Altogether, the three evangelists gave away 25-30 Rosaries and its pamphlet, 3-4 Our Lady Un-tier of Knots prayer cards, and 1 “What about Mary?” pamphlet.

Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

The Rosary still draws people to us, and we trust that God wants to save each person. So, thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
