There seems to be an uptick in friendliness toward and interest in the Catholic Church. So, thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.

A 20-something woman and her mother were here from out of state. They stopped so the younger woman could get a Rosary. She was really excited about starting her internship with a forest service. E. Chuck shared with her some memories of when he and his wife had worked with the same service. May the Lord bless our visitors and keep them safe and faithful.

“Jacob Peter”, who’d served in the military in a combat zone, talked with e. Chuck. He told him that he’d taken a Bible and St. Michael medal with him overseas for his tour of duty. He also explained that his mom was Catholic and his dad a non-Catholic Christian of a liturgical denomination. Jacob currently identifies with the latter community because its church is more conveniently located to where he lives. Besides choosing a Rosary and accepting its pamphlet, he also was glad to receive a St. Michael prayer card. Lord, keep Jacob safe and bring him into full communion with Your Holy Catholic Church.

A perhaps 30-year-old man on a bicycle stopped for a Rosary. “Emerson” told us that he had been driving across the country when his old car fell apart in Boise. Its frame had broken. Emerson had been “raised Catholic” but had not yet been Confirmed. Since landing in Boise, he felt called to reconnect with his faith and accepted a copy of our map to area parishes. Lord, draw him to You and grant him a dynamic faith life in Your Church.

A man stopped who, to the face-blind evangelist, looked like “The Merchant”, except that his skin was a different color and his accent was of a different continent from before. He and that evangelist chatted amiably for a few moments while the other evangelist conversed with a different visitor. After the man left, the second evangelist explained who the man was. He was not “The Merchant” but has stopped before for a lengthy visit. He has issues with Catholic practice but has always endeavored to remain civil. May the Lord bless him for the openness he showed this time to the Rosary and may He bring him into an ever-deeper relationship with You.

At least two groups, each consisting of 3 or 4 young adults, stopped so some or all of them could get a Rosary. Most of them claimed familiarity with the devotion, but we were sure to mention that it was about growing closer to Jesus Christ. May the Lord draw them to pray the Rosary and experience the Mystery of His Love.

Although foot traffic was relatively light on this day before a national holiday, the two evangelists were still able to give away another 25-30 Rosaries and its pamphlet, a St. Michael prayer card, and 2 maps to area parishes.

Please pray for us today? Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

Across the state, the Church has seen a dramatic increase in OCIA participation; at street level, we, too, see evidence of this new openness to Catholicism. So, thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
