Many people show interest in the Rosary and how it can lead them closer to Christ. So, thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.

Two young-adult men named “Christian” and “Caleb”, on their way to buy ice cream, came to the table. They did not know anything about the Rosary but responded with enthusiastic yeses when asked if they knew Jesus loved them. They seemed very interested in the way the Mysteries were laid out and the spiritual fruit associated with each one. They let us know they had been to church that morning and politely thanked us for the Rosaries. We thank God for their faith in Our Risen Lord and pray their lives will grow in imitation of Christ.

“Jeremy”, a man with a football-player physique, dressed to proclaim his support of a local team, and radiating the fragrance of sweet cologne, is Catholic. He came to the table with enthusiasm to select a Rosary. He had a jovial nature and said he knew about the Rosary. He thanked us and went on his way. Across the plaza, he met two women and, after chatting with them awhile, came back and asked if we had a small Rosary for his five-year-old son. After we got him set up, he tried to donate some money. But we let him know that we couldn’t take it. Ever smiling, he said he would pay it forward and took his leave. Pray for Jeremy and his family, that they remain united in faith, hope, and love.

“The Merchant” stopped by to ask for another Rosary, again indicating the prettiest one on the table. When I again told him no, he communicated that felt victimized. But we can’t let blessed Rosaries be used as trade goods and, since he at least pretends that there is a language barrier, we can’t be sure that he understands. Lord, save him!

Three women, one of them pushing a stroller, stopped when one of the older women wanted a Rosary. Fortunately, the mom was able to translate for us. She also told us that her daughter, in the stroller, is named “Bella”. We gave the first woman a copy of the Rosary pamphlet in Spanish. Later, the group came back because the third woman also wanted a Rosary. We also set her up with the Spanish Rosary pamphlet. Lord, bless “Bella” and the three women, protect them, and lead them deep into Your Heart.

A man and woman stopped when the fashionably dressed woman wanted a Rosary. It turns out that she is from the same home state as e. Nancy, who chatted with her a while. Meanwhile, e. Chuck chatted with the man, who didn’t take a Rosary. Lord, draw the woman and her husband closer to You through her meditations with the Rosary she received.

Two women, in their late teens or early 20s, stopped when one wanted a Rosary. Lord, You attracted this young woman to the Rosary; please reveal Yourself to her when she prays it and lead her safely to salvation.

A woman stopped at the table, and the man with her stopped a step or two away. The woman said she was Catholic. When asked what parish she attended, she talked about the one she went to when she lived in another state. She also let slip that she has now lived here for quite a while. However, she dodged the offer of receiving a map to area parishes. Lord, please heal whatever is keeping her away from You in the Sacramental life of Your Church and draw her back to an active practice of the Faith.

Two teenage boys were riding electric bicycles that resembled motorcycles, and each teen was wearing a large motocross helmet. They zipped up to the table once they understood what we were saying. Both were Christian but knew nothing about the Rosary. One boy took his helmet off so he could hear what we had to say and listened politely as we explained the prayer. They were not talkative until we asked about their bikes. They both thanked us for the Rosaries. Pray that they will persevere in faith in Christ and grow in spiritual maturity.

A homeless woman, pulling a wagon heaped with her belongings, accepted a Rosary from an evangelist’s hand. However, she ignored the offer of the prayer pamphlet as she continued on her way. Pray for her safety on the streets, for physical and mental healing, and that she be granted the desire to seek Jesus as her highest good.

A man on an electric rental scooter stopped with a big smile on his face, saying that he hadn’t seen us for some months. His face did seem familiar, but our conversation got sidetracked when a group of people also stopped for a Rosary. But he said he was “doing better” before he moved on. We thank God for whatever improvement he is experiencing and pray he gives God all the glory.

The fountain was off again last week, but the sound system was back on. The weather was quite cool in the shade. We thank God for the blessedly pleasant weather that encourages people to come outside where they may encounter our table. Altogether, we gave away another 30-35 Rosaries and its pamphlet on how to pray it.

Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

Our Lord Jesus Christ loves each person we encounter with an unimaginably deep love. So, thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

P.S. We just learned that the head of one of our Rosary maker groups, “Cathy”, suffered a crushed hand in a recent accident. Please pray for her quick and complete recovery!
