When they encountered us, people remembered family members. So, thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.

A woman stopped for a Rosary. She was attending a convention and wearing a purple conference t-shirt featuring a 5-pointed star in its middle. Our visitor seemed pleasantly surprised to see our table. She said something to the effect that “the world needs more prayer.” She was a non-Catholic Christian but was open to hearing about the Rosary. So, we explained the devotion as a series of meditations on the life of Christ and walked her through how to use it for prayer. She chose a pink one and was very grateful. May God meet her when she focuses on the Mysteries and draw her into a deep and lasting relationship with Himself.

Two women went by, declining our offer of a free Rosary. But, when they were only a couple of steps beyond the table, one woman changed her mind and came back. Her mother-in-law was Catholic, she said, and would like a Rosary. So, we let her choose one and set her up with the pamphlet on how to pray it. The other woman accepted a copy of the Rosary pamphlet from e. Nancy. May God bless whoever receives this Rosary and save him or her!

A stylishly dressed businesswoman stopped. For quite some time, she looked over the Rosaries we had on the table. [I think that, as she did so, we explained the devotion to her and gave her the pamphlet with its directions on how to pray it.] Finally, she chose the silvery pearl chain Rosary. [Again, may God bless our so-generous Rosary makers!] Our visitor then happily thanked us before moving on. Lord, You are the source of all beauty. Draw her to use the Rosary she chose to grow close to You.

Several groups of four to six women came out of the convention center. Almost every single one of them declined our offer of a Rosary. But one woman came around the table to choose a Rosary for her daughter. She chose the one with a St Benedict medal center and dark wooden beads. Lord, bless and protect that daughter and draw her to salvation.

A young-adult woman was walking with another young-adult woman. She stopped because she wanted a Rosary for her dad, who is Catholic. We didn’t have any black or brown Rosaries, which he might have preferred. So, she finally settled on a dark blue one and accepted the pamphlet to go with it. Neither woman took a Rosary for herself. Lord, bless that father for remaining Catholic. Listen to his prayers for his daughter’s salvation.

A man wanted the pink Rosary that e. Lucy was holding. She gave it to him and encouraged him to use it reverently for prayer. Lord, You invented all colors. Grant that his attraction to the color turns into a living attraction to You.

Another man, this one on a bicycle, chose one the very small Rosaries we had on the table. I think it was for a relative. He put it and its pamphlet in the paper bag in his bicycle’s basket. Lord, please bless the Rosary’s recipient and draw him or her clear to Sainthood by meditating on the Mysteries of Your Life.

 “Noemi”, a young-adult or older teenage woman, was walking with two others when she dropped away from her group to come to the table. She told us that she was an evangelist herself and “the day had been very hard”. She was near tears but never really said what had happened. She wanted only the Rosary booklet at first. After e. Lucy’s explanation of the devotion, though, she wanted a Rosary, too. She expressed her gratitude that we were there to talk with her. Lord, grant her Your comfort as she spends time thinking about all You’ve done for her. And please renew her courage to talk about You.

Twice, a different couple stopped. Both times, it was the man who wanted a Rosary and its booklet, showed interest in its explanation, and expressed gratitude. And both times, the woman stayed away from the table, very uninterested. Lord, draw these men deep into Your Heart and show them how to lead their loved ones into a deep and living relationship with You.

Yet another couple stopped near the table, this time with the man walking a little way further while the woman addressed us. “My daughter just said to me that she didn’t have a Rosary and wanted one.” The mom then selected a Rosary and accepted its booklet for her daughter. She didn’t want one for herself and told us that they would pray it together. Our visitor was on a break from the conference with a “star” of some kind on its t-shirt. Lord, grant that mother and daughter do pray together.

A group of at least three women stopped. The first wanted a Rosary for her mother. The second wanted one for her mother-in-law. And a third woman wanted one for her father. (It was unusual to have so many at once want a Rosary for an absent family member.) Lord, please bless those who receive one of these Rosaries and unite their family in Faith!

One couple stopped and expressed surprise and gratitude that we were there. From halfway across the country to visit relatives here, they are Catholic and had attended Mass that morning at e. Nancy’s parish. The man got a Rosary, I think, but at least received the pamphlet with pictures for each Mystery. The lady said she had Rosaries and didn’t want to take one and maybe deprive someone else. They also thought the table of Rosaries was “so beautiful.” Lord, bless and protect them in their travels and keep them faithful.

One young man stopped and wanted only a Divine Mercy holy card. He said he already had a Rosary. Lord, show him Your mercy and love.

There was one drive-by: a young man grabbed the Rosary e. Nancy had in her hand. Then he stopped just long enough to get the booklet also. Lord, use his attraction to that Rosary to draw him to You.

A few passersby remarked that they were Catholic and had Rosaries at home. One of them, though, did accept the Rosary booklet. Lord, lead him to spend time thinking about You.

The day was hot, but God granted a nice breeze. Near the end of the session, a dark cloud moved in. At that, foot traffic lessened dramatically from light-and-steady to almost-none. Still, the two evangelists gave away 20-25 Rosaries and its pamphlet, as well as a Divine Mercy prayer card.

Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

The Lord wants families to dwell together in peace (cf. Psalm 133:1). So, thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
