Praise the Lord! We had our first SPSE outing in Coeur d'Alene on Saturday. It was a beautiful day at the downtown park and there was an Earth Day Fair which brought out many people and families. We set up at a crossroad in the sidewalks so many people crossed our path.

Immediately, a young man came over to check us out. He did not want the free rosary, he explained he was an unaffiliated Christian because he did not believe that denominations were godly. We agreed with him that God desires unity in all believers and that the Catholic Church offers that unity of faith for all believers. Pray that the Holy Spirit will open his heart to John 17. We gave him an invitation to visit a Catholic Church in the area.

We offered rosaries to several families who spent time with us talking about Jesus, the Eucharist, and invitations to visit the Catholic Church. We had positive responses from many people who liked that we were there in the park ready to share with them about Jesus.

A couple came by and said they didn't have need for God or faith. We asked them what happens when you die? At this point, Lis spoke with the man and had a good discussion about the existence of God. He finished the conversation saying he appreciated the discussion and had some good things to think about. Last thing said to him was "Jesus said, "Seek and you will find" if you don't seek you won't know what you don't know." He agreed. His wife was less interested in talking at all. Pray that God would move in their heart to seek wisdom on things unknown.

We talked with some young people. It was good to acknowledge that their age group is under considerable strain in society. We encouraged them that God created them, He loves them and desires a perfect relationship with them in love and peace. They accepted rosaries and pamphlets.

We stayed about 2 hours and handed out some 30 rosaries. Had a number of good conversations and gave out many invitations to the local Catholic Church. It was great to be out there for the first of many outings we hope to have.
