Our team met and spent a few hours at our usual location at the Pasadena Indoor Flea Market.  There were five of us present including Deacon Alex, Cameron, Sebastian, Barbara and myself.  There was a steady flow of people coming by our table for rosaries, medals, prayer cards, holy water and blessed salt.  We prayed with Protestant Christians and Catholics who wanted prayer for specific reasons mostly for family and health.  One woman came over and asked for a prayer of forgiveness.  I think that was the first time that anyone asked me to pray for them for forgiveness.  I also reached out to a man walking by our table and I offered him a prayer card and he informed me that he was a Muslim and kept on walking.  That is the first time I ever encountered a Muslim even though it was very brief.

Barbara walked through the flea market to offer prayer to the merchants for their businesses.  She found that some were receptive and others were not.  But, I believe that any encounter with a Christian doing an act of charity for a believer or nonbeliever is a blessing for the person whether they realize it or not.  Mostly, I want people to see and experience through us the joy, warmth and love of Christ as we reach out to the world.
