"First Outing"

The following story comes to us from team leader Michael with our team in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan:

Today was our first official outing. Joining me at the bus stop was Lexa, who took video and photos and helped evangelize too. The weather was chilly, but the sun was out which helped keep us warm. Thank you, God! Right after setting up, we had a good conversation with Ignacio. He was from the Dominican Republic and didn't speak much English. However, he was able to let us know in broken English that he attended Mass when he could, but that he worked on Sundays so it was a challenge. He showed us pictures of his church back in the Dominican Republic (a beautiful, large white wooden building). He seemed grateful that we were out there, and grabbed three rosaries (one for his wife) before hopping on his bus.

A little while later we met Lisa, who came up to us and immediately let us know that she needed prayer. (We had our Prayer Station sign in front of our table.) Her husband is in prison, which was a struggle for her. So we prayed for her to have peace and guidance from Our Lord about the situation. She was thankful for the prayers, and she was able to take a book and a few sacramentals and pamphlets before leaving.

Before we packed up to leave, a young woman wearing a rainbow hat took a rosary and pamphlet...and then a young man sporting camouflage pants also took a rosary and pamphlet. May the Lord draw each of his children we encountered closer to Himself.
