CONVERSION STORY

Created: Jun 28, 2026

I thank God for the opportunity to evangelize with St. Paul Street Evangelization.  I love the opportunities I have to share information and pray with people.  Many of the people who approach our table are Catholic already.  But they need prayer for themselves or loved ones.  Some are Christian but not Catholic.  I can still find common ground with them and pray with them, while also offering information and answering questions they may have about the Catholic faith.  Sometimes I'll offer them a bulletin from my church and invite them to join us sometime.  I tell them they'd be welcome and we'd love to have them join us.  Occasionally we get atheists and agnostics, and I love to talk to them.  I like to ask them thought provoking questions like:  Do you believe we can have design without a designer?   Laws without a law giver?  Life without a lie giver?  And that nothing can produce something?  If they say yes to all that, then I say they must have more faith than me.  Because I couldn't believe something so illogical and unscientific as that.  Once in a while I get a Christian who is anti Catholic and wants to argue.  I actually enjoy those encounters too because I know Catholicism is the most scriptural form of Christianity.  But my greatest experience as an evangelist is when the Lord gives me an opportunity to lead a person in a prayer to accept and receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

I had that opportunity on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the Farmers Market in Oakland County Michigan.  A young lady approached our table and I struck up a conversation with her.  When I asked if she was a Christian she sort shrugged her shoulders and said she'd never really gone to church.  I sensed that she was searching and that this may be an opportunity for her conversion.  After talking a little more about Jesus, how he died for our sins, and that he offers us the gift of eternal life; I asked if she would like to pray with me right now to receive Jesus as her Lord and Savior.  She said yes.  I led her in a prayer of confession, repentance, professing faith in Jesus, and asking him to come into her heart, to save her, to give her the gift of eternal life and the gift of the Holy Spirit; and thanking him.  We hugged and I welcomed her to the family of God.  She left as a new creation in Christ Jesus.  Thank you Lord for sending this young lady to us.  I pray that you continue to minister to her, help her to get into your word, and guide her to the right church where she can continue to grow.
