After setting up our evangelization table at the Durango Flea Market on Sunday, and praying for the Holy Spirit to bring us people God wants us to encounter, our first visitor quickly arrived seemingly out of nowhere.  The gentleman walked directly toward us with such purpose we assumed he knew us.  As he approached the table, he immediately was drawn to the rosaries.  My teammate and I greeted him and offered him a rosary which he immediately accepted.  He told us the rosary reminded him of his mother and grandmother whom he described as “good Christians who always were praying”.  We then offered him a leaflet explaining how to pray the rosary and inquired if he was familiar with praying in general.  His response astonished us….

“I have never prayed before today, but for some reason this morning I got down on my knees and started praying.  I don’t know why.  That’s why I came to your table when I saw you.”

We congratulated him and invited him to visit St Columba at any time.  Due to too many bad memories from childhood, he was not ready to do this but he accepted the rosary pamphlet along with the rosary.  He then suddenly departed before we could get his name, pray for him, or get to know him better. He seemed to disappear as quickly as he had appeared, very mysteriously.

Our Evangelization Ministry was in the perfect place at the perfect moment for this faith-seeking individual. It was an honor to assist him on his spiritual journey.

God is Good!
