Always Time for Prayer - 2026-Oct-11

Created: Oct 18, 2026

Many people need prayer, and some of them let us pray for them in person. But we can’t do this without your prayers for us! So, thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.

  • “Tim” came to our table early in the session. He was looking dejected and his voice was quiet. We gave him a Rosary and its pamphlet and shared the good news of Jesus with him. He still seemed quiet and sad, so e. Clare asked if there was something in particular that she could pray about for him. He gratefully received prayer for the addiction he’s been struggling with. After receiving the short prayer, he went away with a smile on his face. Lord, please grant Tim freedom and peace, and a new beginning with You at the center of his life.
  • As soon as e. Clare had finished her prayer for Tim, she discovered “Robbie” waiting for a turn. She came right up, closed her eyes, and asked for prayer. The evangelist prayed that the love of Jesus would descend on her and bring her peace. The evangelist also asked the Lord for some other favors our visitor mentioned. Robbie wept and told us that she was so happy that we were there. She took a Rosary and looked forward to trying to pray with it. Lord, You know all of Robbie’s needs. Please reveal Your love for her as she seeks You in prayer.
  • A group of three, perhaps economically disadvantaged, women passed near the table. One of them gave us a definite no, and a second woman followed her lead. The third, however, wanted to find out about the Rosary. E. Clare described the devotion for her and our visitor chose a Rosary for herself. Then the second woman came forward and also got a Rosary. I think the third woman didn’t get one right away, but came back a few minutes later. We encouraged them all to spend time thinking about Jesus and all He did for them. Lord, You know all of their needs. Please reveal Yourself to them and draw them to salvation.
  • A man named “Chris” decided to accept our offer of a Rosary. Perhaps prematurely aged, he was soft-spoken, awkward, had a sunburnt face, and was wearing a brightly colored but bizarre costume. As he chose his Rosary, he listened to e. Clare’s explanation of the prayer. But e. Lucy thought she heard him ask for help against the many demons that were plaguing him. (Perhaps he knew, somewhere deep inside, that we had an answer that he needed.) He took a Rosary, but declined our offer of immediate prayer, mumbling that we “could pray for him on our own time.” He walked past us four more times before the session ended. We greeted him each time and he nodded his head in acknowledgment but did not stop again. Lord, You know how desperately Chris needs You. Grant that he seeks his identity in You, the God Who made him, and not in cultural lies or degrading temptations from the enemy of his soul. Instead, Lord, grant him peace and the freedom to follow You unreservedly for the rest of his life.
  • A mother and two grade-school-aged boys stopped. One evangelist offered her the Rosary booklet in Spanish, and another evangelist started digging one out. By the time we’d retrieved the booklet, though, the mother said she didn’t need one but accepted it anyway. Lord, please bless that family and bring them all safely to Your Kingdom.
  • A college student, who has just started OCIA, and his girlfriend stopped and chatted with e. Clare for a while. They each chose a Rosary. Lord, protect and guide the man as he prepares to enter the Church and keep his girlfriend Faithful to You.
  • A very elegantly dressed woman stopped briefly and chose the nice chain Rosary we had on the table. She also accepted its booklet. However, she didn’t say anything else. Lord, draw her deep into prayer with You through that Rosary she chose. And, again, please bless and protect our so-generous Rosary makers and their loved ones.
  • A man and woman stopped. They didn’t want a Rosary, but he told us a few short, inoffensive jokes. Lord, let their sense of what’s clean draw them to You, Who can cleanse us of all sin and imperfection.
  • A mom with her two young-adult daughters came to the table when the youngest daughter showed interest. The oldest daughter went on and waited at a distance. At first, only the daughter picked out a Rosary.  But the mother, on listening in to our explanation of the prayer, decided to take one, too. Shortly after they left, all three of them returned because the older daughter decided she also wanted a Rosary. In our second time through the explanation, we dove a little deeper into the promise of the Rosary, showing them how each Mystery and its Spiritual Fruit can help to pull us out of ourselves and deeper into Christ. Pray for this family, that they will respond to Jesus’ call to “come and see” and seek Him in the prayer of the Rosary.
  • A big professional athletic match was planned for the sports arena shortly after our session was to end. About a half hour before then, people already started gathering. Many of them were Catholic-friendly. Lord, confirm them in their desire to socialize with fellow human beings and bless them with peace.
  • A man in a team jersey, heading for the sports arena, stopped and accepted the Rosary out of e. Chuck’s hand. However, he declined the pamphlet on how to pray it by saying that he was raised Catholic. He then acknowledged he’d left the Church a long time ago to “waste my time” on other things. The evangelist replied that it was never too late to return to the Catholic Church. Our visitor then said that he was thinking it was time he returned, and so the evangelist offered to get him a map of area parishes. But he declined by saying, as he turned to head for the arena, that he knew where all the Catholic churches were. Over his shoulder, he said something about having to clean up his act first. The evangelist suggested that it starts with getting back to church. However, his back was now turned, and he didn’t respond as he walked away. Pray that his intentions are sincere, and that he answers the Holy Spirit’s call to come back to the Bride of Christ.
  • A college-aged couple, “Dominic” and “Samantha”, paused to say they had Rosaries already and were thankful for our presence in the public square. He is Catholic and is sponsoring her in OCIA and is planning to ask her to marry him. She said he’d already given her a nice Rosary and a binder full of things she would need, including a pamphlet on how to pray the Rosary. Dominic also shared that he used to attend a certain church in another State, which happened to be where the son of one of our evangelists is attending seminary. He was so happy to hear that! E. Clare, who belongs to the parish they attend, offered to look for them when they attend Mass there. Before they went on their way, they asked God to bless us. Lord, thank You for their joy-filled faith in You and their devotion to the Church that You founded. Please bless and protect them.
  • A young man came by and told e. Clare that his dog had recently died and so he was lonely. The evangelist prayed with him and he immediately cheered up. He received a Rosary and left refreshed. Lord, continue to draw this man to You and salvation.
  • A group of parents and children came by and were struck by the joy at our table. The dad exclaimed, “This place has good vibes!” They took Rosaries. Thank you, God, for the joy that is the fruit of the Holy Spirt. Please touch every member of the family with Your joy as they pray the Rosary.
  • Although the weather had turned suddenly cold and we hadn’t expected much foot traffic, we were busy! Thank you, God! Altogether, we were able to give away another 30-35 Rosaries and its pamphlet.

Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

God knows our needs and encourages us to pray for each other. So, thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you  love!
