After our early summer Houston FIFA-Fest outreaches we continued to evangelize downtown Discovery Green, Daiken Park (Astros home) and Main Street Block Parties. We generally found that most of our meaningful encounters (dozens) were with younger people (under 30 yrs old), younger families and downtown/ballpark employees. For example, a ballpark security-man was prayed for for multiple back/joint problems and experienced relief from pain that had plagued him for years. He was overjoyed (see picture). Many families (some non-practicing Catholics) committed to following Christ and returning to/attending mass. Many young people (some with no religious affiliation) dialogued with us about God, searching to fill their spiritual void and then prayed, committing to follow Christ. We used the Fr Simon Lobo prayer from the SPSE Good News tract. All were invited to mass with some being followed up by texts and phone calls. 

The Catholic Charismatic Center SPSE team will continue to monitor Downtown Houston activities this Fall and plan our outreaches accordingly. We are trying to do our part to reach the 7.2 million people of  the Houston area with the Good News of Jesus Christ and His Church.
