Reaching the Lost – 25-Oct-2026

Created: Nov 1, 2026

God keeps calling people back to Himself. So, thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.

  • A man, accompanied by his wife and young son, stopped when the man wanted a Rosary. However, he can’t tell the difference between the Catholic Church and a look-alike-but-missing-the-substance, non-Catholic, Christian denomination. He did take a Rosary. The mom and son didn’t. Lord, grant the man the grace to look beyond appearance and perceive the reality of what You offer in the Church that You founded and preserve.
  • One of our first visitors was a blonde, happy, and chatty woman, who also felt like it was “not a coincidence to run into us”. Please pray that she continues to respond to God’s grace and invitation to salvation.
  • Several hockey players, who had just finished their game in the sports arena, went by. Maybe one stopped for a Rosary, but the others all declined our offer. Lord, grant them knowledge of the true value in Your eyes of various activities.
  • A man with a European accent, accompanying a woman, stopped when the man wanted a Rosary. He claimed to be familiar with the Rosary but seemed to see it as only a good-luck charm. Lord, please use his desire for “good luck” to draw him to You and salvation.
  • Several families with only one child stopped, the child always choosing the only chain Rosary we had on the table. Lord, we pray they follow You at this young age and find true peace and joy in Your perfect plan for their lives.
  • A couple with a son of about 8 to 10 years old came to the table, led by the mom. The father and son stayed back a step while the mother looked over the Rosaries. She said she was Catholic, so she knew the prayer. She also repeated several times that she was surprised to see Catholics out in public. We invited the father and son to pick one out, too, and the boy reluctantly did. He stood looking at the Rosary for a moment and then asked his mom what it was. It quickly became apparent she was not an active Catholic. So, we encouraged her to help her son pray through the Mysteries so her son would get to know who Jesus is. Pray for these parents, may this moment remind them of their duty to their son and their own need to live faith out loud.
  • A middle-aged couple stopped, led by the husband, and he told us he had picked up a Rosary from us before. He picked up a chain Rosary, but it sounded like he was interested in it only for decorative reasons. He laughed when we recommended they pray the Rosary together. Lord, may his admiration of the Rosary lead him to actually use it to grow closer to You.
  • “Marty” stopped to say hi. Nothing of religious substance was mentioned in the brief conversation. Lord, again we pray that Marty sees that need to make You the center of his life.
  • Another couple stopped and said, “We are [from different nations that were traditionally Catholic], so you know we’re Catholic.”  The couple then bragged that her mother went to Mass seven days a week and that her grandmother was approaching 100 years old but still faithfully praying the Rosary. However, they were evasive about their own acts of faith. However, they accepted the map to area parishes, and each picked a Rosary, and thanked us for being there. Pray that they will imitate her family and begin to live out the obedience of Faith so their lives may be changed.
  • A mining conference was being set up in the main convention center. One of its attendees, a woman from out of state, stopped for a Rosary. She was dragging a large suitcase and a tote, but she responded to our offer of a free Rosary by saying, “You know what, I think I need one right now.” She never elaborated, but was Catholic. Lord, confirm her in her practice of the Catholic Faith and grant her safety here and safe travel home.
  • A young man rode by on his bicycle and made an unhappy raspberry noise at us. We called out, “May God bless you”. He rode off without further comment. Lord, with You nothing is impossible. Please draw him back to You and salvation.
  • A family of dad, mom, and 2 kids stopped. The mother was excited to see the Rosaries, and exclaimed, “They’re so beautiful!”. They each chose one except the Dad, who stood back and waited for them. Lord, let that family’s faith draw its father back into full communion with You.
  • A young family wearing matching shirts stopped. The parents came to the table but the boy, who was perhaps 8 years old, called from several feet away, “I want the white one!!” The dad, however, picked a red one, so the boy changed his mind and chose a red one, too. As usual, e. Lucy asked them to pray it together. Lord, draw them all to pray the Rosary together, and through it, draw them all to salvation.
  • A group of older teens or young adults stopped. E. Nancy talked with one young woman. The evangelist explained that when she prays the Rosary and “puts on the mind of Christ”, she feels peace and hope. Our visitor’s eyes lit up, and she said she really needs peace and feels the whole world needs peace. Another member of the group said she has gotten a Rosary before and keeps it in her car. Now, she wanted one for her purse. She loves the Rosaries and wants them with her. We pray that she prays it.
  • A man named “Lawrence” stopped for a Rosary just minutes before it was time for us to take down the table. He’d been raised Catholic but hadn’t been to church for 20 years. However, he had just recently “responded to God’s call” and had attended a church service. He admitted, though, that it was “just” a non-Catholic Christian church and that he now realizes that he wants to return to the Catholic Church. It seemed meaningful to him that he had run into us that afternoon. He was also interested in helping with the charitable organization associated with the Church and thanked us several times for being there. We encouraged him to keep listening for and answering God’s call, to pray the Rosary he picked out, and to come back and see us in the coming weeks. He accepted a map to area parishes, a “Reasons to Return” to the Catholic Church pamphlet, as well as a “Primer for Confession” pamphlet with its examination-of-conscience checklist. Pray that Lawrence will persevere in his journey home to the Catholic Church, that his heart will remain open to the inrush of the Holy Spirit, and that he may live in the joy of salvation.
  • A middle-aged lady stopped, who seemed to be in a low mood. She selected a Rosary and received the booklet on how to pray it but didn’t display much interest. She quickly returned and wanted a different one because the one she’d chosen wouldn’t go over her head. Lord, please free her from any addictive or mental health challenges. Restore her joy as she prays the Rosary.
  • God granted us a beautiful day, warmth in the sunshine, and about average foot traffic. We were able to give away 15-20 Rosaries and its pamphlet, 2 maps, 1-2 Divine Mercy bookmarks, 2 “Reasons to Return” pamphlets, and 1 “Confession” pamphlet.

Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom come of today’s efforts.

There is much joy in heaven when a sinner repents (cf. Luke 15:7). So, thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

“Go with the strength you have” (Judg 6:14).
