First Outing for our Team
This day has been in the making for 13 years since I read a book on testimonials of St Paul Street Evangelization during adoration. Not knowing what to expect, it was more than I could have imagined. Thomas and I spent two and a half hours on our first outing. We had 8-10 encounters with meaningful conversations where we were able to share stories, hand out sacramentals and pray for people and their needs. We had all levels, Catholics wanting to pray for a sick person with cancer, people traveling that wanted us to pray for their family and people that wanted prayers for their immediate needs. While we were packing up we had people approaching us asking for prayers. This young man (Eric) was visiting from Modesto and wanted us to pray for his finances. He was a Christian and knew of Jesus, but felt is was meant for him to visit us and walked away with much hope and said he felt something in our conversation. I told Thomas, \"Maybe we should act like we are leaving all the time.\" I was telling Thomas as we were reflecting on the day, I compared our outing to playing golf. All it takes is a couple of good shots to make you feel like, \"I can do this!\" Of course we can\'t do anything without God, be I am fired-up for our next outing and have some notes on what we can do on our next outing.
