Jesus Christ, Real and Willing to Save – 2026-Aug-16
The following report comes to us from team leader Lucy in Boise, Idaho:
Jesus has a Heart for the lost. So, thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
- A young-adult woman decided that yes, she did want a Rosary. She came around to the front of the table. Since she was not familiar with the devotion, e. Lucy asked her, “Do you know that Jesus loves you and has an amazing plan for your life?” The young woman ducked her head, mumbled that she was okay, and took her leave without another look at the Rosaries. Lord, free her from the lies she’s come to believe about Your Son, our only Savior, Jesus Christ and lead her to salvation.
- We asked a man if he wanted a Rosary. He replied that he didn’t speak English. E. Chuck asked him, “¿Español?” Yes. We gave him the Rosary pamphlet in Spanish and he chose a Rosary. Lord, draw him to use his new Rosary for prayer and draw him ever closer to You.
- A woman came to the table because she wanted a purple Rosary. We asked her how to say purple in Spanish. “Morado”. Lord, You’ve drawn her to accept a Rosary due to her love for a color that You created. Help her know and love You, her Creator.
- A young-adult couple declined our offer of a Rosary as they went by. And later, as they passed by a second time, the man declined again. The woman, however, suddenly stopped and declared that she wanted one. He continued walking a bit and stopped to wait for her, just out of earshot. She said she “kind of knew” what the Rosary is and added that she was trying to explore her faith again. We gave her a Good News/kerygma pamphlet and showed her how the Mysteries of the Rosary could help her get to know Christ better. Then e. Chuck added that seeking Christ was a life-changing pursuit that she would not regret. Pray that she responds to the Holy Spirit’s call and is protected from any possible negative influence from her boyfriend.
- At least five people chose one of the yellow Rosaries that e. Chuck was holding. (This surprised us, since yellow usually seems to be one of least frequently chosen colors.) At least another five people chose a wooden-beaded Rosary that had just been donated to us. (God, please bless again all of our so-generous Rosary makers!)
- We had brief encounters with “Uwe”, “Olivier and Katie”, and “Marty”, who each stopped to visit briefly. However, none of the conversations touched on spiritual matters. Lord, bring them each to You and salvation.
- Half of the business park, including literally half of the fountain, were fenced off for window-replacement construction. So, foot traffic was fairly light. Still, the three of us gave away another 20-25 Rosaries and its pamphlet, as well as a Good News/kerygma pamphlet.
Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.
Some people come to the table simply drawn by color or the desire for something free, but we offer something life-changingly good. So, thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
“Go with the strength you have” (Judg 6:14).
