In summer 2024, I was restless. I felt the call to do more for God via evangelization, but I had no outlet. I grew up with "beige Catholicism," and the associated mentality that "just being a good Catholic person is enough to evangelize -- people will 'just know' and be attracted to God by your life." While technically a very true statement, I abused it like most other Catholics do. I timidly said grace with the smallest amount of hand movement and checked the box for my Sunday Mass obligation. No proactive faith conversations. No asking to pray for others. Lukewarm, and in danger of being expelled from Christ's mouth (cf. Rev 3:16)

I discovered SPSE on Reddit. I was curious if anyone does old school evangelization -- hitting the streets like a St. Francis or Dominic would. Since learning about street evangelization and especially healing prayer, my life has not been the same. I witness God's grace every outing, and am more confident and inspired to genuinely spread the faith to those around me at work or play.

I love participating in God's plan to bring the Gospel to others, especially in such a dark and dismal age where everyone seems to be on algorithmically-fed autopilot. You duped me Lord with this vocation (cf. Jer 20:7-13), but who else will stand in the breach to prevent people from stumbling into the slaughter? (cf. Prov 24:11). If I do nothing, woe is me (cf. Ezek 3:17-21). May we all become bolder heralds of Christ's kingdom.
