Stories from the Street
Santa Clarita, CA. Sometimes, to get someone back on the right path, you just need to be in the right place, at the right time. The Santa Clarita, California SPSE team set up outside a large department store (with permission, of course!), and spoke to many people over the course of about six hours. One of these people was a man who had been raised in the faith, but had been away from the Church for a long time.
Our evangelists ask all readers to pray for this man. Hopefully, like the prodigal son, he is ready to come home. The evangelists talked to him, and he accepted pamphlets on confession, and salvation. He took a rosary and a bottle of holy water. And he said he would try to get to Mass that coming Sunday, and what’s more, he said he would come visit the evangelists on one of their future outings.
Do be sure to pray for this man to find his way back to the home of his Father. Surely the Father will run toward him with open arms, slaughter the fattened calf, and throw a banquet for him (see Luke chapter 15).
