The following report comes to us from evangelist Peggy with our St. Raphael parish team in Crystal, MN:
On the Second Sunday of Advent, I gave the students who are going to be receiving their First Communion a rosary and rosary guide, along with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy prayer card. I explained to some of the kids and the teacher that the plan was to pray the rosary and Chaplet once a week and then in Lent increase the praying to twice a week. The students and teacher were all happy to receive the sacramentals.
It’s important to get children into the practice of praying the Rosary and to communicate this whenever we encounter young ones during evangelization. We must remember that during the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima in 1917, Our Lady told Catholics to pray the Rosary every day. This instruction was for everyone including the children, not just for adults.
Praised be Jesus Christ!
