The following report comes to us from evangelist Michael in Las Cruces, NM:
This past Sunday when we were evangelizing after Mass, I saw an old friend I hadn’t seen in awhile. We exchanged hellos, then I asked him what is his number one reason for continuing to be a Catholic? He said because “it was true and that the Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ”.
I then gave him the form from class with the questions and asked him to ask me a question from the list. He asked me what frustrates me the most about the Church and what keeps me grounded. I told him what frustrates me the most about the Church today is all the confusion in the Church concerning the Church teachings and how we are not getting clarity from the Pope and the Bishops. What keeps me grounded is Jesus’ promise that the “gates of hell would not prevail” against the Church and destroy it. We have to trust in His word and be faithful.
My friend told me he was so glad he had come to this Mass and not the one he had planned to go to because we got to share these thoughts with each other. He said he was getting goosebumps just talking about it with me. He also shared with me that his oldest son was getting serious about his faith so I directed him to our table with all the resources and he took some to share with his son. Thank you Jesus for the opportunity.
Praised be Jesus Christ!
