The following report comes to us from team leader Lucy in Boise, Idaho:
God is always relevant. As we were setting up, a man stopped to talk. Though we didn’t recognize him, he said he’d received several Rosaries from us over the years. He shared painful memories of the non-Catholic denomination in which he was raised, where threats of Hell led him to reject Christianity. We assured him that this was not the true Gospel message. Today, he’s “vaguely spiritual,” which he said is a step forward from his former anger toward God. Please pray that this openness leads him to Jesus.
First-time street evangelist “Clare” joined us, accompanied by her husband and seminary-bound son. After watching for a while, Clare stepped up to offer free Rosaries herself. With her strong voice and inviting nature, she was a natural. We’re happy to welcome her to the team!
Three young men on bikes stopped after hearing our offer of a free Rosary. Two chose Rosaries for themselves after hearing a brief explanation of the devotion, and one took another for a friend suffering from stomach cramps. Though they initially joked around, they became more respectful after we reminded them that Rosaries are meant for serious prayer. One later returned the extra Rosary when his friend declined it. May God touch the hearts of all three and draw them to Himself.
“Brennan” and his girlfriend also stopped while riding their bikes. Brennan had known evangelist Chuck about 15 years ago and had received a Rosary from us last month. When asked if he had prayed it, Brennan laughed and said he simply had it displayed somewhere. Pray that Brennan and his girlfriend may come to place God first in their lives.
Another young woman was excited to receive “a real Rosary” and told us she planned to have one tattooed on her leg. She had never actually prayed the Rosary, so we explained the devotion and gave her a pamphlet with the prayers and Mysteries. Lord, as she is drawn to the Rosary itself, draw her also to the prayer and reveal Yourself to her through it.
Despite smoke from wildfires in neighboring states, the cooler weather brought plenty of people outside. Altogether, we gave away another 25–30 Rosaries and pamphlets explaining how to pray them.
Please pray that God sends us people whose hearts are prepared to recognize their need for Jesus and His Church, and that our efforts bear abundant fruit for His Kingdom. God knows what we’re going through and still calls us to Himself. Thanks for your prayers and support for this apostolate. May He protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
