The following report comes to us from team leader Lucy in Boise:

It was a busy week of evangelization during a downtown garden show and music festival, where heavy foot traffic brought many meaningful encounters. “Liam,” raised in another Christian tradition, approached with sincere questions about Catholic beliefs. He was surprised to learn Catholics do not worship Mary and listened attentively as we explained prayer, the saints, and Marian doctrine. He accepted several pamphlets and a Catechism. Please pray that he continues seeking the truth.

“Robert” believed in a creator but rejected any one religion’s claim to truth. Though open to philosophical discussion, he struggled with the reality of sin and the divinity of Christ. He was encouraged to read Mere Christianity. Pray that his search leads him to a personal relationship with God.

Two young Christian women were drawn to the Rosary but knew little about it. They listened with joy as we explained the devotion and took prayer cards. May their faith deepen into a fuller relationship with Christ. A man stopped to thank us for witnessing to the sanctity of life, sharing his own efforts to defend the unborn. We also met two young Catholic men who were enthusiastic about their faith and parish life…signs of hope for the next generation. Not all encounters were easy. One elderly woman expressed pain from her past experiences with the Church. Please pray for healing in her heart.

Throughout the day, we distributed over 50 Rosaries along with pamphlets and prayer cards. Many who stopped seemed unexpected, reminding us that God draws all kinds of people to Himself. Please pray that every encounter bears fruit, and that all those we met grow closer to Jesus Christ and His Church.
