The following report comes to us from evangelist Phil with our St. Raphael parish team in Crystal, Minnesota:

It was a little warm out there today as we hosted Drive Thru Prayer. Even the heat doesn’t stop those who are in need of someone to pray with. One of our encounters was with a lady named Dawn. She was heartbroken to learn that her niece, Madison, had gone missing, and the police were looking for her. We assured her that it was no accident she had come to our prayer event. Our Lord Jesus sees her, understands all of her challenges, and indeed loves her niece. We prayed that, like the prodigal son, this prodigal niece would return, and we would rejoice that “my niece was lost, but now she is found!” She gladly received our prayers, a blessed Miraculous Medal, and a blessed rosary.

Another man named John stopped by and asked for prayer for his various health issues. They cause him a great deal of anxiety, and he wonders why his life is turning out this way. Although he believes in Jesus and attends a Protestant church, he sometimes feels hopeless. We gave him a blessed Miraculous Medal and let him know that our Blessed Mother intercedes in a special way for those who wear it with faith and devotion. As our conversation continued, we were happy to learn that he knew who the current pope is, and he could even name the previous three popes. We used that as an opportunity to explain that, throughout the long line of popes, it was Jesus Himself who appointed St. Peter as the first pope, and that the Catholic Church traces its origins back to him. We earnestly prayed with John, and he seemed to leave with more hope than when he arrived.

We had four others come for prayer, and our evangelists (Phil, Pete, and John) earnestly prayed with each of them. We led one lady named Harmony to our Eucharistic Adoration chapel and invited everyone to attend Mass with us.
