The following story comes to us from team leader Nancy with our team in Gaithersburg, MD:
Bob and I recently met with Nelly and had a fruitful time engaging people in different conversations. Nelly speaks Spanish and has a heart for young adults who have been raised in the faith but have fallen away and as a result are addicted to drugs and alcohol. She prays and encourages them in the faith to return to church and get right with God. I am very grateful for her commitment to SPSE. Below is a sharing from Tom, our other evangelist.
Molly and I went to the Lakeforest transfer station from 2:00 to 3:30 pm on Saturday. David joined us as well. A few highlights: Raymond eagerly received our prayers for healing of his back and leg issues; he reported that he was incarcerated briefly for manslaughter after intervening to rescue a girl from an attack.
We spoke for some time with a Muslim man; we discussed similarities and differences between our faiths but had difficulty due to his limited English proficiency (his primary language was Farsi). A college student and a high school student eagerly accepted our prayers for their studies (the younger of the two young women attended MOGS for junior high). We saw Adam riding around on an electric bike. He had been very interested in our prayers and sharing on two prior occasions but did not engage us this time.
Dear Lord, we lift up all the different people that we met this month. Please reveal your truth and love to them and bring them to an encounter with you that will be life changing for them. We also pray that this little chapter would continue to bear much fruit for God’s kingdom and that Our Lady would guide us.
