The following story comes to us from team leader Dr. Deb with our team in Owatonna, MN:

Tom and I headed over to the Plaza for another outing. I had been praying the rosary on the ride over and prayed for the Lord to soften people’s hearts and open them to encountering Him during our outing.

Christie came over to us and asked us to pray for her friend Kara, who was struggling with peace of mind and stability in her housing. We asked if she had any prayer requests for herself, and she told us that she was in town for medical reasons. Last year, her body had been filled with tumors, and they miraculously disappeared. Now she has other medical issues and has had to move to Rochester for the near future. She shared with us her daily reflection book and how it mentioned that we shouldn’t get caught up in trying to solve problems, but just give them to God. I told her about the Surrender Novena and how powerful that is in trying to live that concept. She took a Miraculous Medal, and she also wanted a Padre Pio medal. We prayed for all of her needs and those of her friend Kara. Tom invited her to the healing service at Resurrection Parish.

Richard and Anna stopped by to pick out a rosary. She told us she hadn’t prayed it for a long time, and we gave her a pamphlet explaining how to pray it. They wanted prayers for their adult son, Christopher, who had struggled with severe mental illness most of his life. They had to move him to another state, because he was a danger to them and he had gotten in trouble with the police. After an outburst at their house where he destroyed most of their belongings, they were able to get him into a new kind of treatment, and that’s been going well for him. It turns out that Christopher really loves Padre Pio, so we gave them a medal and a holy card to give to him. Richard was in town for a liver problem, which for some reason, still works well, even though his liver shouldn’t be functioning. Tom prayed for all of their needs and that the doctors would be able to use Richard’s case to help them learn more about the disease and be able to help others. He invited them to the healing service at Resurrection Parish.
