June 2020

Hi team leaders! It’s June, and you know what June means — well, maybe ya don’t.

The month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. God is Love and the Sacred Heart of Jesus is the human manifestation of God’s Love for us. And He’s present all over the world right now in the Blessed Sacrament. The month of June falls within the liturgical season of Ordinary Time, which is represented by the color green. This symbol of hope is the color of the sprouting seed and arouses in the faithful the hope of reaping the eternal harvest of heaven, especially the hope of a glorious resurrection. So, it’s a time of hope. And we need it.

Many of us have been cooped up in our homes for a few months and are eager to be out and about, but many people are going to be afraid of getting close to other people because of the corona virus so we have to make some adjustments in how we evangelize.

On the one hand, we think a lot more people are going to be more open to discussing the big questions in life, but on the other hand, people are going to want to keep their distance. So there are practical things we should consider doing — things like not getting up in someone’s grill during a conversation, or having hand sanitizer at our station. We created a document last month with some recommendations on getting back out there. We’ll put the link for that document in this newsletter.

It’s also a good idea to be sensitive to the people we encounter — some may be very cautious, many are feeling the effects of the pandemic, quarantine and riots.  This may be more of a time to encourage rather than challenge; to bring hope in Jesus Christ. Our friend Beth went out on the first of June and she had good success using prayer as an ice breaker. She would say to people, “I’m praying for our country, would you like to join me?”

All right, what else we got going on?

Our Wednesday webinars — we’ve been cranking out a new webinar every Wednesday night at 7 eastern. Coming soon we’re going to have Steve Ray and Dr Ray Guarendi share their wisdom with us — oh man, we’re getting big time now. You have to register for those in advance on our street evangelization website. But don’t worry if you miss it. You can always watch them later.

Our whaddaya say this month is a good one. What do you say when someone says it doesn’t make sense to believe in an all loving and all powerful God with all the suffering going on right now. How would you respond?

Our tech tip for this month is about setting up your profile. This will help those who visit your site to learn more about you. And we use the profiles for our team leader highlights! The two team leaders we’re highlighting this month are Joseph Carton from San Diego, and David Brandt from Berkley.

We also want to encourage you to pray with us. Everyone is invited to join us Monday through Friday at 3 pm EST as we pray a Divine Mercy Chaplet and every Tuesday, we follow the chaplet with a half hour chat with one of our team leaders.

On Mondays at 7 pm Eastern, we pray a Scriptural rosary, and we rotate those so we aren’t praying the Joyful mysteries every time.

And finally, I want to invite you to our buzzing w/ the B’s zoom meeting. We have that on the 2nd Saturday of every month at noon Eastern. These are great, we get together and discuss the current situations, best practices, fellowship, prayer, trivia. It’s a good time. This month’s buzzing with the Bees is on June 13 at noon eastern. Dan will have the link for that in this newsletter as well.

Ok, thanks everybody, I can’t wait to get back at it!
