August 2020

Hi team leaders! It’s August and although we still face uncertainty about the school calendar, we can still be certain about our Church calendar. The month of August is dedicated to the Immaculate Heart Mary. The physical heart of Mary is venerated (and not adored as the Sacred Heart of Jesus is) because it is united to her person and is the seat of her love of Christ. Such devotion is an incentive to a similar love and virtue… and actually, we want to encourage all of you to consecrate yourselves to Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary… I did this years ago after reverting back to my Catholic faith, and it really helped me overcome the sin of impurity that I had been struggling with for a long time.

Next, be our guest! We’re looking for guests for our podcast! We want you to share your conversion story as well as your favorite stories from the street. This podcast will be heard all over the world and hopefully inspire more Catholics to join our mission. Just fill out the form below in this newsletter and we will get back to you about setting up a time that works. And don’t worry we aren’t recording these live, so you don’t have to be nervous about screwing up and saying something goofy… we can edit these things.

Also be sure to set your calendar for our buzzing w/ the B’s zoom meeting. Join us for community, fun trivia, an open forum with your SPSE national team, and small groups with one another. We will continue with our normal time on the second Saturday of the month, and for those who can’t make it on weekends an encore performance has been added! You can join us Wednesday August 12th at 8pm eastern time. The links for those are also in the newsletter below.

Our tech tip for this month is about badges! Team badges are our way of publicly recognizing and honoring our teams for their work in evangelization. We have a blog badge, a calendar badge, a profile badge, and a street light badge indicating your proficiency in the essential evangelization skills. Watch the video below to see how you can get them all!

Our team leader spotlight is on Socorro from Michigan and Paul from California.

Lasty, Our whaddaya say this month is about what you’d say when someone gives you grief about the rosary, saying Jesus spoke against vain repetition. How would you respond?

That’s it, thanks for watching, and please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions you may have. God Bless!
