Drive Thru Prayer 5/3/25
May 9, 2025
It was a beautiful spring day for our evangelists/prayer team. We had several new people join us today: Colleen, a friend of Suzanne; Rochelle and Rich, a married couple; and Evie, an experienced abortion clinic sidewalk counselor. For the regulars, we had Phil, Suzanne, Lisa and Sharon.
We had several parishioners stop by with requests: J for the confirmation students he works with; G & S for Gert's 100th (!) birthday; P for a (likely benign) tumor in her left ear causing deafness in that ear; R for household spiritual battles; L for kidney stone issues
We also had R who requested prayers for his mother who had upcoming surgery. S stopped by and was very grateful for prayers for her daughter A who suffers from fetal alcohol syndrome and also for her friend M who has depression and whose faith is slipping. N is moving and overwhelmed. N requested prayers for peace of mind and heart as she moves.
Our most interesting encounter was E. E was a walk up. He requested prayers for direction as he pursues a career in the Navy. He also wanted prayers for the Lord to reveal His love in all areas of E's life. Evie engaged E about how she converted to Catholicism and things she loves about it. E was given brochures about the existence of God (to give a friend), confession and Holy Eucharist. He was genuinely open to discovering what Catholics believe. He spoke to our team for about 30 minutes and even prayed with us for all the prayer requests we received as we finished our Drive Thru Prayer session.
