JUBILEE YEAR OF HOPE
August 3, 2025
Molly and I arrived at the bus terminal and we were met by another group passing out pamphlets that were quite different from the gospel message that we proclaim. David was also there so we set up in a different part of the terminal than where we usually are, as this group was in our space. We just maintained our peace as we began to pray and asked God to direct us. To our surprise some men from the group of around 12 came over and actually were very respectful and were wondering what we were passing out. It was a great opportunity to proclaim the gospel to them and to give them some of our literature. They made a deal if we took some of their information, they would take some of ours. May God open up their eyes and ears to receive the truth of God's love for them.
Amparo, Bob and I went out on a Thursday and we were met by some Spanish men who had been drinking and they wanted some rosaries. Amparo shared the gospel with them and they went on their way. But we could sense just real darkness that day as many people were smoking pot and under the influence. I also met a young adult who was dressed as a woman named Riley. He had been raised in the Catholic faith but fell away. I shared my witness with him about being in such darkness and how God delivered me and gave me a new life. I pray that God would use that to give Riley hope that there is a God who knows and loves him personally.
Tom and I went out the following Saturday and wound up praying with a young adult, Adam, whom Tom and Molly had met before. He just started opening up to us about why he is so angry and how his girlfriend had betrayed him. I believe he felt God's love through Tom and I just the fact that we were there listening and being present to him. It was a real time of grace as he committed his life to God again and forgave the people who he was angry with. May God continue to work in his life and protect him. There was also another young adult, Abraham, a Muslim, who was very eager to receive the good news and to receive information of the different churches in the area.
May God be praised with all these interactions that we have had, and may God continue to protect our little chapter and Our Lady guide us. Thank you to all of our intercessors who continue to pray for us.
