THE PRAYER OF THE LOWLY PIERCES THE CLOUDS (SIRACH 35:17)
October 26, 2025
Sheila, Amparo, David and I had many interactions with people last Thursday and one in particular stands out. We have seen a number of people throughout the years whom we have gotten to know and one of them was Ed. He was a regular at the bus stop and I got to know, pray and witness to him. He was addicted to alcohol. In the meantime he was on my prayer list every day for God to heal him. I had not seen him in a couple of years, but he showed up that day. He recognized me and I him and I told him I had been praying for him every day. He was very touched but said he was back to drinking. He is a former Catholic, so I asked him if I could pray with him. He welcomed it and actually committed his life to God again and asked God to help him to forgive the people who had betrayed him. It was a beautiful exchange as tears ran down his face. I gave him info about our church and urged him to go to confession. Please pray that Ed will follow up.
Last Saturday Cynthia joined us for the first time, and it was a blessing to have her. She, along with Tom and David prayer with people for healing and had many beautiful interactions. We also met Maria with four children and gave them all miraculous medals and crosses. She shared with me how she was homeless for three years and God has provided for her. Paul was there whom we had prayed with for healing of cancer and a new place to live. God has heard his prayer and provided another place for him to live that was safe. I was very touched by his generosity as he pulled out some one dollar bills and gave it to Maria's kids. He was so grateful to God for hearing his prayers. (Their pictures are below.) May God continue to heal and guide him.
I had also met a young girl Sarah, a former Catholic, whom I had witnessed to before who is in the military. She looked very downtrodden and I asked her if she needed prayer. She told me that she had injured her knee and was laid off from work. Her husband is also in the military so she had income coming in. As I prayed with her I shared with her that her true identity is a child of God and not in what she does but in who she is and urged her to return to the Church. She was glad to receive the encouragement and to receive information where I go to church. She, in fact, lives right near our church. May Our Lady guide her.
May this little chapter continue to bear much fruit for God's kingdom and Our Lady to guide us.
